Z06CE

This question is for someone who knows the Z16 Z06 Corvette ordering options.

The Z16 RPO consisted of commemorative stripes and polished clear coated wheels and other stuff.
My question is this---- was it possible to order a Z16 Z06 CE vette from the factory without the stripes and polished wheels?

Someone has a CE vette for sale without the stripes. He says the prior owner ordered it that way from the factory.

I'm thinking the prior owner had it repainted and removed the stripes? But I could be wrong.
I'm curious to know!

I don't know that the Z06s could come without stripes, but there were commemorative edition non-Z06 cars. They were the same blue, but without the stripes.

Non Z06 CE's did not have stripes from the factory or the polished wheels.....Is the car in question a Z06?

The stripes are only decals which can be removed with out too much trouble.

To answer your real question......I can't!
Mine was on the showroom floor when I went to look at a truck,
I fell in love with it and bought it too. Many miles of smiles since!!!!!

He wouldn't have had to repaint it to remove the stripes as they are just a sticker. To my knowledge, they all came that way -- i.e. a package. Chances are he just removed the stickers and it wasn't a wreck/repain. Did you check the hood to make sure it's carbon fiber?

All Z16's came the same way. The stripes come off easily since they are vinyl. Buddy of mine removed his also, but it's the 'stripes' that give 'identity' to the Z16 commemorative cars.

The car is a Z06 CE, seemed hard to believe that one could order a Z06 CE without commemorative stripes from the factory. I think this seller is full of it.

I just purchased a Z06 CE about a month ago. (with the stripes of course!) This car is cool, just love it.

All Z16's came that way. They also had the carbon fiber hood.

I believe it can be checked by the VIN number too.

It is possible that the guy told the dealer he didn't want the stripes and when it came in the dealer just removed the stripes. Easy fix for a dealer to satisfy a customer without any real extra hassle.

AFIAK, the Z16 couldn't be ordered without the stripes. However, the dealer could have easily removed them. Still sounds a little shady to me...
