Hinson Super Cars Lower Motor Mounts on a Street Car?
I see Hinson offers these..http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/p-135...5c6gtorx7.aspx
Now if your going to buy a set of either the stock height or the lower ones and have mods done to your car and may down the rd add more mods would these by the mounts to get?!
Other thing is IF ya lower the motor, how does that effect the rest of your driveline? The Trq Tube, and Rear Trans alxe.....does it need lowered now and will there be clearence issues w Headers?
My C5 has the Org Kooks Long Tubes on it w there matchiong X-Pipe
Thx!

Well I see you need some info here. Headers will be a problem for a lowered car with shot mounts. IT will drag. Stock height mounts will be fine. Next you need to put a rap on the header or the metal shield over the mount to keep the heat of the mount. The only reason you would need to lower the engine is to clear a fast 102. NO it will not effect the drive line at all.

I had Kooks headers on my Z with the Hinson short mounts. I had no issues at all.
However, I did not have any of my cars slammed on the lowering bolts. They were all just a little bit lowered.
I've installed 3 sets of the Hinson mounts. 2 short, and one standard. I like them.
Here's the deal... Just like some cars need the lower mounts to install a 102, and some cars don't, some might have issues with headers scraping and some won't.
Good luck with your project.

I have the shorter Hinson mounts with ARH 1 7/8" headers and my car is slammed, just about 3" group clearance to the rocker. I have not had any issues with my headers rubbing. Also, I have to say these mounts are the best. My car is a daily driver on nice days and the Pfadt mounts were unbearable on the street, car vibrated and droned like crazy, it was awful to live with. The Hinson mounts have almost no NVH loss from OEM and give all the other benefits to engine movement and handling just like the Pfadt did. Great product!

I've got the lower Hinson mounts in my twin turbo Coupe and no issues with clearance in any way, shape, or form. I'm lowered 2" on coilovers also

There is no discernable difference between the stock mounts and the Hinson mounts with regards to NVH.
They are excellent replacements for worn out stock mounts, or those looking for a performance engine mount that's not a true solid mount.
