[Z06] OBX and XSPOWER headers

IMO They are both junk headers... OBX are China made ebay crap that IF you can get them to fit on the cheap and they work, more power to you... XS-Power headers are also junk, I purchased them in 1 3/4 catless for my old Black Z06 because Everyone sweats them because they are more known, Cheap and are knockoffs of ARH. But the fitment on them is terrible, I had a set that I put on that leaked instantly. I had to remove 40 thousandths on one whole flange and about 55 thousandths on half the other just to get them half *** straight to seal against the head and they still leaked. Needless to say I didn't like them at all. You pay for what you get as the old saying goes. I may have just gotten a bad production run since it was after that long wait but who knows. On my Z06 now I have some REAL ARH 1 7/8's...
As stated, This is just my personal opinion...

Well I have two friends, that run the xspower on thier C5 ZO6s. And they have zero problems. Fit or leaks. And they make good power. I run OBX on my c6 Z51 and love them. But again maybe I just got lucky. But I have a set of xspowers coming for my 2004 ZO6.

I put a set of XS Power headers on my 03 Z last January. The fasteners were very poor quality, and I had to remove the right header and tweak the O2 bung because the sensor was hitting something, then reinstall, otherwise they fit very well. The sound is great and they appear to be a very good value. I can't speak to performance as my car has not been tuned or run on a dyno, but I would probably buy them again.

Yea im not sure, I purchased them new in February of 2013 so its not like they were a 1st production run or anything... Externally they were fabulous looking, Welds all looked great ect, The gaskets were cheap junks but everything else looked good. As soon as I put them to the head I knew they were F'd, I was in the middle of my build and I didn't want to wait for another set from Superman so I just had a shop deck them...

I think I am gonna give them a shot anyway, thanks for the feedback though.

I helped install a set of OBX headers on a C5 vert and they went in very nice. No complaints at all.
That being said, I have XSPower 1 7/8" long tubes on my Trailblazer SS and I love them. Fit is perfect, minus one small occasional rub on the crossmember from the y-pipe. O2 sensor locations were spot on. You can physically tell the quality is better than OBX.
Are they as good as pricier American companies? The quality sometimes isn't, but the power is negligible. There's a good thread on the 5th gen camaro forum about it where Maryland Speed actually does a back to back dyno comparison.
