Default Vette Magazine March 2015

Interesting quote from John Heinricy from an article in the latest issue of Vette magazine.
The article is about the new MCM Motorsports park circuit.
On page 44, middle column towards the bottom of the page, the article explains that John drove C4's thru C7's on the new circuit.
Afterwords, the writer asked him which was his favorite of all the Corvettes he drove?
His response....
"The C5 Z06, it remains my favorite all-time Corvette to drive at a track."
VERY cool!

That is an interesting bit of news. Thanks for sharing the story.

I still love my C5Z. Just feels so comfortable so responsive.

That's what I hear from friends with Vette track experiences as well...well, at least that the C5Z is much better on track than the C6Z.

I have a hard time thinking it's still better than the C7 though.

Its really a matter of how the car feels. How the car transmits the road to driver.
I believe that the C7, although a jump in technology, has lost its connection with the driver.
Just as the C5 lost some of the feedback the C4 was notorious for.

I have the article he wrote on the C5Z06 Z16. It was persuasive and I ordered and bought the car. Best car I ever bought or drove.

"better" and "more fun" are not the same - I can see the C5 being the most fun despite being slower than a C7.

I'd like to replace mine with a C6 Z07 or Gen V TA in the future, but I'm glad to hear the pro speak so highly of my current ride

I wouldn't mind a C6 ZR1...

But I'll be keeping the C5Z...

Yep, that's another one that makes the short list, although I really like naturally-aspirated power

I tried a C6Z at Spring Mountain when I went, and it didn't feel as much of a "nice fit" as my C5Z did. I'm still enjoying the car as much as when it was new on the track and the street. Nice to see that John feels the same way as I do. I can't wait to try out a C7Z.
