So I put up a thread last year with a write up and pictures on how I cleaned up the uglyness under the fuel rail covers in the engine bay that plagues the Corvette's...

I am undertaking another project right now. Before I put my rims and tires back on I have removed my brakes/suspension components to paint/Clean anything I can before I put my rims back on.

If anyone has questions pertaining to it let me know. I will post more pictures as I get further along. The next process will have a lot of pics.

I ended up installing new end links both front and rear as well.. Those plastic ones sure are crappy!

I used a degreaser product called "Zep Pride" and sprayed everything and scrubbed it with the green side of a spounge. I then sprayed the aluminum with a product called "Aluminum Brightner" from Napa, it is made by a company called Mac's. I let it fizzle up and rinsed. I then took some gray scotch brite and rubbed everything down and rinsed. Then went over it with some fine steel wool. The spindle i scrubbed with gray scotch brite dipped in CLR. Took about 2 hrs or so.

Also i used a small nylon type tooth brush to get in the tight places.

Thanks bud. Yea my endlinks were trashed. although I didn't have the plastic ones, I actually had ball swivel heim joint ones. The car sat for a while and they froze up solid.

I'm just now putting all my stuff back together after almost a year... I should've done that to the whole chassis while I had it torn down, honestly

I did what I could with the rear subframe while it was apart, but some stuff just didn't want to come off and I wasn't interested in spending more time on it. Yours definitely turned out very well; I'll keep that method in mind for the future.
