Default Lighter weight flywheel???

I have the standard weight flywheel with my Mantic single clutch and considering a lighter weight flywheel when I install my udp. Any suggestions? It does see time on the street so a complete lightweight road race version is probably not going to work, but what other options are out there?

I was advised against a lighter flywheel

Unless your primary use of the car is road racing, it really isn't beneficial; it has adverse effects on the street and at the strip

I planned to do a bit of everything, so I was told by both Monster and Mantic to stick with the standard flywheel

I ended up getting the Monster LT1-S (C7 pressure plate and twin discs) with Monster's 28lb flywheel

I have the McLeod billet flywheel and drivability wasn't affected IMO.

I went from stock 26lb?, to 18lb steel flywheel, to now my Mccloud 13lb aluminum. I didn't see the drivibility loss. maybe because I gradually stepped down in weight, but I can leave the light on just clutch and not stall. granted this is opinion, find the happy medium for you, possible 15-18lb range

I was surprised when I weighed my stock flywheel and it was only 21lbs, and that the disk/pressure plate combo was 19lbs. I put in a 18lbs flywheel and the Monster pressure plate /disk that came in at a surprising 23lbs. So no real gain/loss, also the mass of the flywheel was on the outer edge along with the pressure plate and disk (12 inch). So there was no difference in the drivability feel. I was hoping to reduce the rotation mass to allow faster drop off of rev's for quicker shifts. If I were to do the clutch/flywheel again I would go with a 10 inch double disk system and have more mass removed from the out edge of the flywheel to center the rotational mass.
