I was all about licensing up, running as you see Stock, with 100k on the clock. 125 then 150 UTSFA This all went down almost 11 years ago But yours is a thing of beauty...Red cars are the fastest, or do they just show better on the salt.
Any chance, did that get you near or beat Denny Kahler's record?

I felt the car felt real good honestly, I agree mind tends to "dance" in the first few gears but the mojave magnum doesn't want hard starts or any traction loss of the line so most people seem to be rolling on it hard not having those issues

Our stock motors are more than capable of surviving a weekend of MM runs. Most of those there will drive in and home without a problem.
I'll be there again this year supporting my nephews quest for his t-shirt.
Maybe see you there?

Almost as if its pushing down.
If you get white knuckled on the wheel and she'll feel squirrely.
Relax your grip and the car will track quite nicely.
At 260 FPS that mile to shut down sounds like plenty, until your tapping the brakes.
So make sure your brakes are up to the task as well.
The end of the runway comes up fast.

No lift. No dancing. As a matter of fact she feels flat and solid.

I have Stoptech BBK, so I had absolutely NO issues with stopping. At the Texas Mile I ran 3 runs taped up, and the rest (6) not taped, and the tape had absolutely NO effect (that I could see) my fastest run (by 1mph) was without tape. Wind direction and speed makes the most difference by far.

At Mojave they did not allow tape of any kind.
Except to hold your reg tag on the windshield.

They used a small strip of clear packing tape for my tech sticker.
The event is on an active runway.
The cleanup of stray tape after the event would be ridiculous.
One guy used a big piece of Saran Wrap on the entire nose. Not sure they let him run.
I did learn from an old timer that folding the mirrors back on a C5-6 has no effect either.
Turns out that after a given speed, the turbulence will pull the mirrors out to their extended position.
Scaring the s**t outta the driver when they pop out!
I chose to follow his advise and leave them be.

I'm toying with raising the rear of the car 1/2" or so to help reduce the amount of air getting under the front, and now that you brought up the chin spoiler idea, I will for sure be doing that as well.

Making small adjustments and aero changes are great ideas and could make a difference of a MPH or two. I put myself though the same mental torture before last April and finally decided to run her as is. Looking back it was the best decision. My prep was an oil change at the motel and tire pressure check.
I had two successful runs. The first was (176) hitting the rev limiter at the traps in 5th gear, shifting at 6250. The second run I tried shifting at 6000 and used 6th gear that netted a trap speed at 171. I believe it would be possible with a 100 shot to push 6th gear through the traps at 180+ a few. But with a tech speed of 175, anything over 179 would result in "no time slip" penalty.
Just remember that unless you spend the money for two days your only going to get three runs. The first is a required rookie run at less than 150. Feels like your dragging an anchor. Depending on the day/delays you'll get at least two runs for speed. Maybe three IF your lucky. That's about 100 bucks a run. Make em count!

Oh yeah best have fresh tires. They will check the DOT numbers.

I'm buying a sheet of aluminum to make some aero pieces - mainly air dam and maybe side skirts.
I'm thinking somethin garound the .050" mark. Do you think this would be stiff enough to resist pressure at 220mph? (220 is faster than I will run so good to be sure). It will bolt on in the factory spots like the cheap rubber ones do and follow the same curves, so that will add some rigidity to it. It will be approx 1/2" off the ground, 1" at most depending on how the runway is. I will put it on AFTER the car is off the trailer. want it thin enough to trim with sheet metal sheers if needed.
With a low air dam it will create an area of low pressure right under the motor/hood (which is good since the cars want to have lift under the hood) but then what about doing side skirts to keep air out from under the car since it will be low pressure? Thoughts?

Think you need to go to thicker on your aluminum otherwise it's just going to fold back on you. I used 1/8th and welded a top plate for mounting with a backing plate to reinforce the body where it mounts.
