I am just starting to look into a square setup so don't take this the wrong way. Why do you say the 4 rears approach is a no no?

Not to put words in his mouth, but I took is as he meant as a no-no in his opinion is staggered tire sizes (say 275 front and 295 rear) on a square wheel set of rims (say four 10.5" rears).

295/35/18's Michelin PSS. They have an actual measured contact patch of 11.1", so check your numbers on other tires. I've seen 325's measure the same from other companies.

I have observed a very light contact on the rear brake ducts but it seems to have stopped. I have zero rubs that I've observed and I've turned sharply. I haven't pushed the setup entirely yet though, so under heavy dive and other scenarios, I can't say yet 100%. It seems at this point though, that the room is there. I'm corner balancing here in a minute and so I'll be taking another look shortly.

Car has a lot more front end hop turning sharply, going slow that's for sure. You don't miss that much tire up front...lol. Good stuff.

I'm considering going to 18 X 10.5 C5 Z06 Speedlines up front and going to upgrade to C6 Z06 brakes.

I like the brakes. They aren't the best of course, but I had them available from a GTM build, so I used them. They aren't the most track capable choice vs some AP's or something but...dooable. This is more a street car with occasional track days, so I figured it was good for my application.

On feeling the unsprung weight, that's mega complicated because of how I changed setups. I went from a front c6z replica cast wheel, factory suspension with the bolts screwed down, and the stock brakes, to forged wheels, larger front tires, PFadt featherlights, Oconnell Swaybars and the C6Z brakes. The car changed so dramatically, that being able to isolate that specific factor wasn't possible.

I can only say that with the current setup, the car feels better than I've ever experienced. It takes the numbness out of the car, sharpened the turn in, and makes the car feel like it has a real front end on it. The current state of build for this car, is the best I've ever had it, and it's been through quite a number of iterations.

Maybe I mistyped, or maybe you misread, but I don't have anything against using the factory rears on all 4 corners...it was a setup I looked at. I only stated earlier that some refer to the square setup as 18's on all four corners, but with different rim offsets on the front and rear or differing tire widths, so rotation isnt possible. I think the OEM rears are a great setup, I just wanted something more aggressive and I went with a bit of different offset and width.

The idea of running a true square setup is very appealing to me especially since it allows 4 tire rotations and extended warranty of tires normally only used on the rear in a staggered setup. I also like to have more oversteer vs understeer which I find easier to control so that would be a plus as well. I had a square setup of 285/40-17 on my old 96 Impala SS and it worked well for HDPE and overall tire wear. I wasn't sure if a 295/35-18 would work on the front, so I'll watching your results closely.

18x10.5 +56 all 4 corners with 295/35ZR18 rubber all around. ZERO issues with TC or AHS.

"My those are some impressively large and wide front wheels and tires you have there", said Little Red Riding Hood to the Big Bad wolf.

K.I.T.T., slow_pokeC5 and Quickshift_C5 those 295's sure fill out the front fender wells - they even make the rears look small by comparison.

I just picked up a second pair of 18x10.5" Speedline rears for the front, just not sure if I will go with 265 or 275 front tires right now. Maybe later I may try the real/true square setup, that also allows you to rotate the tires front to back.

Slow pokes are a bit of an optical illusion, they don't look larger in person. As stated, I chose the 295 michelin because it's true measured contact patch was 11.1" and I was fitting on a 11" wheel. I wanted the proper sidewall profile as design intended and didn't want to give up anything to excess flex or mechanical advantage when cornering.
