Mythical low mileage Z06's under 20 grand. (don't exist)
I have read a lot of guys on this forum and other areas all claiming they would not pay over 20 grand for a low mileage Z06 and that most people over pay. I have kept a log of about every Z06 for sale in the country and have NEVER seen a low mileage Z06 under 20 grand. Why would they be?
So my question to all who make this claim: Where are these mythical low mileage low priced Z06's? Guess what....They don't exist! I would like some evidence and links please.

Looked at a 10k mile 2003 yellow Z. Listed at $23k. Talked owner down to $20k. Car needs tires and valve springs changed. I know I can get it for under 20k but not sure I want a yellow car

There's a 55k (not low low mileage i know) mile car for $19k near Atlanta, and a 46k mile '04 car near Charleston for $20k. A few 30k-40k mile cars around here for 22-23.
edit: I found all of these near me on craigslist

What do you consider "low milage". Mine sits at about 21K miles.

Last month I looked long and hard at C5z prices and most nice low mileage ones are $21-25k. I found an unmolested one in FL with 10k miles on it for $22k(!). Really wanted it, but went with an 18k mile bone stock C6 Z51 for a 5k more because I got a much better interest rate on the 09 vs the 03...roughly half! Couldn't bring myself to make that decision and I think I made the right choice. Even with 5k down and a ~760 credit score it was hard to finance a 15yo car for 20k+. Banks and CU's don't care much about rarity or collectible value.
I will still get one, since a C5Z is my dream car, but I will have to wait until I can get it outright or put enough down to get an interest rate I am comfortable with to add one to the stable.

I just paid 26,500 for an 03 black with 2,900 miles and that was from a big Chevy dealer. The cars are still strong performers that don't look dated so the value is still holding pretty well. I honestly feel like I got a bargain since it already had kooks longtubes that were installed by Kooks and an MGW.

I paid $21500 (out the door at a dealer) for my 02 Z06 that had 27k miles on it. Already had a short shifter, valve springs replaced, column lock fixed and QTP module (also an oil catch can).
It was yellow as well.

I think it would be difficult for anyone to prove one way or the other. All you are seeing in the ad is the asking price. Unless you can see the actual sales price, everything else is just speculation. What someone actually pays and what some asks are often very different.

exactly! found mine (2002 quciksilver with 47,000) listed for 17,500 in virginia... saw that it needed valve springs and a few other little things got it for 15k....

The way I see it, is that I do not mind paying more (I didn't) 24K with about 10,000 dollars or so in upgrades with 28,000 miles. I would have probably paid more to be honest. I LOVE these cars and am interested in keeping it forever so low-balling and holding out for a cheaper and possibly worse car was something I had no interest in.
These cars are worth way more in my opinion. The "value" is just something totally made up and arbitrary. Think of this, if you were to buy a low mileage Z06 one year after it was new with the same or more miles, you would be paying close to the starting price. What changed? Just the silly passing of time and nothing else.
A 20,000 mile C5 Z06 in 2006 (2 years later) is still the same car if it has 25,000 miles now. It did not devalue in my eyes one bit. Funny how pointless the valuation of cars is.
