Default question about dealer valve spring job

If i took my 02 z to the dealer to get the stock valve springs swapped out would the oem springs they replace mine with be at risk for breaking randomly as well?

the new springs they will use are different from the ones that came from 2002.... should not have any problems with broken springs

I would just confirm which part numbers they used to replace your old ones with. I'm not sure what the GM parts catalog currently says are the right part numbers.

I replaced mine with the newer style gm 'blue' springs 5 years ago. Yes, they are much safer than the springs gm used in 02-03 z's. The blue springs aren't unbreakable or anything but they are way more reliable than stock.

Unless they have changed parts number, here is the info for the blue springs. When I bought my 2002 Z06, it had the yellow springs. Although the car had low mileage, I changed the springs just for peace of mind.
(You might as well change the plugs, wires, valve seals and cover gaskets at the same time)

Valve springs: #12499224
Intake valve seals: 12482063
Exhaust valve seals: 12482062
Valve cover gaskets: 12637683
