stickers and decals
Everybody let their feelings be known on Corvettes and car washes on another thread and it made me wonder about another thing.
How does everyone feel about putting bumper stickers, stickers or decals on their cars.
I personally always hated any kind of bumper stickers on my car but even worse on a Vette you have to stick them to the fiberglass since you don't have a actual steel bumper to stick things on.
How far do you go to personalize your ride?

Less is more when it comes to a corvette.
Just like those windshield banners that some people paste on their cars denoting the name of the car..........
CORVETTE
This is so that you don't forget what kind of car you drive as you approach it in a crowded parking lot.....

Less is more especially on a high dollar sports car like a vette . Nothing worse than seeing stick on crap and decals all over one like they got a autozone gift card for Christmas lol . Men tastefully mod a car .. kids cover them with autozone and eBay doo dads and stickers .

I generally disdain any kind of decal or sticker- especially on a Corvette and never, ever on paint. I did have a small Corvette Forum decal- about 1.5" on the side of the C6 rear window and our Corvette Club decal on the other side-- but since selling that car, our Corvettes are always au natural.

When I got my car, the entire inside of targa was covered with aftermarket brand stickers. The rear window had a Paul Walker quote and a HOONIGAN decal. I had a 2 hour drive home, and had all the decals on the targa removed before I crossed into the next county. The rest came off the moment I got home. haha

When I drove my car home from Austin, I stopped to show a friend in Houston and HAD to show him the floor mats the previous guy had.
If it had a Paul Walker quote on it, I'd be at the first autozone I could find and purchase some razor blades.

Stickers, like the JDM guys do it? I'd like to see someone try that, i think if done right it would look good IMO. Hey, if Porsche guys do it, why not vettes???

It may be pulling at hairs but I'd argue that the C5 - and most modern Corvettes - have fascias, not bumpers, which means a "bumper sticker" of any sort shouldn't be going on them regardless. Keep that mess off your car.
Windshield "banners" are pretty outdated. Even the Fast & the Furious crowd was late to that party.
About the only stickers I'd go for would be like posted above; anything relating to track day. Most SCCA and similar hobby track day divisions are a bit lenient on the style of letting used and in most cases you can even throw painter's blue tape on there. Even if you do have to use a specific vinyl set vinyl is cheap as dirt nowadays.
I'm all about removing every sort of decal and in most cases badges off of my car. I cringed when I bought my C5 because it had one of those vinyl dealer stickers on it. It came off the second the car made it to my driveway. Next came the rear deck emblem, and the only reason the front one stays on is because of the alignment holes; otherwise that'd come off also.

Come on guys!!! Lighten up, have some fun! My C5 is murdered and I even put black carbon fiber on the badges because I don't like the colors and chrome. Murdered needs no words, no stickers, nothing, it says bad *** all by itself. The yellow Z on the other hand is the one I autoX and I let my personality show on that one for the fun of it. Hey, yellow is not a bad *** color so why not?? You only live once so you might as well do it the way you want!
Get the wretching bag out, you purists ain't gonna like this!!
(It's all removeable if I decide to swap things out, like I often do!)
BTW: the saying says "Does Not Play Well With others", and it doesn't!

I'm not 100% for or against stickers on Corvettes. It honestly depends on how they look. I've seen Vettes with stickers that are tastefully placed and I've seen ones that make me shake my head and say "what were they thinking".
The only thing stuck to my Vette are the C5 emblems and letter inserts, but I have custom paint, so mine gets enough comments about not being stock (both positive and negative).

I would say if you think tattoos enhance the look of a beautiful woman, then you will probably like decals on your Corvette.

Good analogy. I think a few tasteful tattoos look good on a woman, but once you get into full sleeve territory, I find it a little gross. Much the same with cars.

I mod my car the way I like it and don't really care if it pleases everyone - which includes any decals/stickers on the car. I can't say I like every car that has decal/stickers, but I'm not the one paying for the car either so whatever they do they have to live with it.
