So now that it's sunny outside and I can drive my "new to me" car that I bought in Feb, I've noticed that the driver's side mirror has a yellowish color to it. It doesn't appear to be the original as my 2001 C5Z didn't have this. It's probably an aftermarket replacement but I'd like to get it off of there. Ideas...suggestions? How? Where?

Thinking maybe it's the electrochromatic mirror gone bad...?

That's the one that is supposed to self dim when headlights are in it. Mine is yellow too. IIRC it's over $200 for a new one that may at any given time do the same thing so I've just left it alone.

I thought that was only in the rear view mirror? This is the driver's side door mirror.

Drivers side too...

(But not the passenger side mirror)

Right... I've heard of more than a few people replacing with good old fashioned regular mirrors when theirs go bad.

If I do anything with it that's what I'll do. It really doesn't bother me that much though so chances are I leave it be.

I can't believe it's gone bad on a 16k miles car. Typically Cheby quality.

I wouldn't say it has anything to do with mileage..... its the age..its a 16 year old car man...
