I bought an 01z lowered. Installed c6z wheels and raised it up. It looks a lot more balanced in my opinion. Anyone else think the same ?

Since you asked, I think it looks like it's going to tip over in a turn. Lowering will improve the handling, it even suggests doing it in the original '03 owner's video. If you actually like its appearance higher, well then that's a personal issue. C5's just look sleeker when lowered.

Let's see a photo..traditionally lowered cars look a little better...but if you post up photos it would be easier to give an opinion either way

Lowered is must with these cars. Anything else looks similar to an SUV......

JK, but you get the point.

I think the performance portion of the owners video said lowering something like 7 mms was a good move...

I think that's what I had my corvette tech do with my c5 z51 and my z06 too...

Was about a quarter to a half an inch lower....

That's my suggestion....follow the owners manual video for track driving...a quarter to a half an inch is a nice balance....a lot of the c5 s were jacked up to get on carriers for delivery....the quarter inch or half inch would be the best height...

I forgot to mention, mine came with aftermarket bolts. I lowered the front all the way down and raised the rear all the way up. I like the jacked up look , just a preference I guess.

Mine rides at the factory height, I like the look of the lowered cars but my a half mile of dirt and gravel to the highway would just eat the car up. Even at stock heights it hits on occasion.

I think the C5Z looks awesome slammed but it's just not practical for me. I lowered it a touch but wanted to make sure I still have good suspension travel.

This is what I'll do, if I ever do. Fully slammed is a bit OTT to me.

car was engineered to work at stock height and will be fastest on public roads, better riding, more compliant etc. lowered slightly performance is increased on smooth tracks. slammed on stock bolts rides terrible and is slow and unpredictable

Why do you think they make it so easy to lower, the stock ride height is for loading and unloading on Car Carriers.....Lowered looks and works better too.....

I would love to lower mine with Coilovers but I don't like the cost. I like how it rides at handles at factory setting.

To each their own, but I could not drive my Z at stock ride height. Lowered completely changes the cars attitude...

I think it's great that we can customize ,from factory, our own preferred ride height/performance height. Never seen that with other cars I've owned. Great job, Corvette !!!

Corvette forums the only place I've heard people complain about a car's ride height not being low enough. Maybe over on those stance life places they cringe if you can stick a finger between your tire and your fender. I like my Z at stock ride height. I can't even tell a lowered one from stock unless it's just slammed, and I hate that look.

My other ride is in fact a truck, and it's at stock height too. I guess its some people's innate desire to modify that feels like the ride height has to be messed with, but it just seems like a recipe for poor alignment and premature wear along with a worse ride and more scraping over speed bumps. It's a street car, if it were a track only thing then sure why not lower it. Sadly, public roads are not smooth like any track basically anywhere.
