I didn't have a chance to see it before someone else went in and liked it and appears to be offering close to asking. That buyer needed to check with his wife, so I think that might have been a scapegoat to get out of there. I already got the OK from my wife, she wants to drive it too if we get it.

Unfortunately I am out of town all week so it will have to wait and hope no one buys it.

I didn't see the price when I originally responded - if it checks out mechanically BUY IT that is a GREAT PRICE

Sounds like a really good deal. Those mods alone would be about 6 K for parts, installation, and tune.

Still thinking about it. I was told the interior is pretty beat up (holes, broken plastic, rocking seat, worn seats/pads, wires hanging) and the tune was done without the A/C in proper working order. Plus I was told I would likely not feel safe driving home with the condition of the front tires.

I agree. There is more behind the story you have been given so far. Take your time and find the ONE for you. It doesn't sound like this person is the conscientious person you want to buy from.

I got the same vibe when the seller told me that.

I'm not looking for the "perfect" example, I am actually looking for a weekend/track car but I don't think I can live with an interior like that. I would still like it to be decent which it appears this one is not.

Well this report changes EVERYTHING!!
If it is ragged out, I would be afraid of it!
