Default Trailer Park Boy buys vette

Hello C5Z owners.

Poor boy from the sticks finally gets C5Z!

I've owned a 2000 Camaro SS and still own a nice 2006 GTO w/ 425 rwhp.

Now I've gone and done a thing and bought a Pull-me-over Red 2001 C5Z.

49k miles
Bone Stock down to the CAGS still being enabled.
Last owner put 2000 miles on it from 2012 to me buying it Friday!
Picked it up for $17k here in Hawaii, will end up doing small things out here (up to LT full catback, maybe 3.73 or 3.90, and a CAI) until I get to Cali or where ever I end up next.

Here's a few pictures so far I have, will be taking the wife around to get good shots of it with some good Hawaii scenery.

It really drives like a dream and I am super happy with it.

Thanks guys, nice condition cars are very hard to find out here in Hawaii (with owners willing to sell them!)

Lol maybe when I get back to the mainland, but here in Hawaii there's not a lot of good asphalt...

After a week of ownership the differences between the gto and z aren't that far off, save that the goat is modded of course.

The goat obviously has more down low punch but it's offset by the much wider tires and lighter c5. I'm hooked!

Me and the wife both think the z has the short race and the gto has the long race of it can catch up. I know I've run ~400 rwhp c5s and crept away from a roll but 1st gear is just a fairy tale for the gto.

Not looking to go wild here in the middle of the ocean and I have ~1500-2000 to spend in prep for future mods.

What would you spend your money on first if you could do it again?

Lt+catback+tune
3.73 or 3.90 gears
cam+valve train+tune

Very interested to hear thoughts and obviously "all of the above" is the right answer, but what if you could only do one?

So which one are you, Julian or Ricky? I'm guessing Julian seeing as Randy drives beaters. Congrats, looks like you got a real deal.

I'm a noob, but my research tells me a cat-back Corsa exhaust, with the sport sound option (the middle choice).

I would look at headers, CAI, and a good tune. If you have the stock titanium exhaust, most that put headers on report it being quite a bit louder.
