There was a company (Caravaggio?) that did convertible conversions of c5z's. Never came from the factory as a vert though. So yes, they are 'real'.

It's a nice looking car - decent price too. Can't help to think it wouldn't handle as well as a coupe though.

Red engine covers, could be an LS6. Z06 dash, manual tranny... fairly good chance it was a Z06 before it got chopped. Just as likely it was a vert that somebody "badged up". Do your homework.
Personally, if I wanted a vert I'd rather a souped up vert than a chopped up Z.

The "S" in the 8th position of the VIN is the only 100% accurate method of identifying a C5 Z06. The GM factory never made a C5 vert.
Caravaggio did make some nice conversions.

Check the VIN. That is the best way to know for sure.

As others have stated, Chevy made no convertible Z06's until 2015.
