That's interesting. I have been doing HPDE's for a few years now and I now own a C5 Z06. I have been doing extensive research on tires and really can't find much for the stock fronts. So I was thinking of going to a wider tire. The 275 gives me just under a half inch increase. Do you think that matters on the track?

I replaced the old original factory Goodyear tire with the Bridgestone. I have about 5K on them and they seam to hold traction and run down the road fairly quite. The are sure better than the 15 y/o tire that was on the car when I bought it.I recently bought a set of the Toyo Proxes to try next.

Nittos
what tires should I put on it. There is a ton of discussion on the topic but I’m having trouble figuring out what I should put on it. I want to keep the stock wheels and I would prefer to buy Nitto tires. Since the standard size is not available, What tire size is recommended?

my 6.5yr-old / 35kmi Invos are obviously done (surprised they've made it this far), and though they were okay as a dual-purpose tire (weekend warrior + HPDE days), i really could use some more grip, especially with 540hp and some suspension & brake mods.
i've been back & forth on the NT01s and R888s for them being the most common offerings in a 275/35-18 & 305/35-18 setup, but after seeing a number of Toyos separating, i looked more heavily to the Nittos (surprising, considering they're sister companies).
unfortunately, there ain't a lot of corvette info on guys running these off the track. would the NT01s be alright for the occasional road trip & potential rain driving? my Invos were solid in water when they were newer, but i'd really rather not have to get a second set of wheels/tires if i ain't gotta.

There is a guy selling some Bridgestones in the forsale section, cheap way to find out if you like them. It's a good deal, the tires are decent performers.

I’ve been running the NT-05’s in 275/295 for five years now. Fantastic 3 season tires imo. Would not drive on them in the winter, and not the greatest in the rain but they do ok as long as you take it easy with them. Fantastic dry weather tire, great street/strip/track tires for the money. They don’t wear real well though but that’s to be expected with a 200 treadware tire.

any of y'all tried the 295/40-18 NT05? it's 27.3" i could run that with a 285/35-18 and have just over 1" height split.
i'm trying to step my tire heights up a little instead of of raising my suspension bolts because i'd like a little more ground clearance than my current 25.2" / 26" setup gives me, but i'd rather not increase the wheel gaps by raising the suspension because that just looks terrible (piddly excuse... i know!).
that was a lot of my factor in leaning towards NT01s over the NT05s, too.

also, in looking at the tread design, would it be better to air the NT05s down a couple pounds when wet to put less pressure on the smooth center strip & more contact on the siped shoulders?

I just did the same after seeing your post. After looking at the reviews I decided to try them. Jegs has a killer deal on them. How did the manufacture date codes on yours compare to the purchase date? I just ordered my set and will be waiting for them this week.
