How to keep rock chips off the rocker panels?
Iwould like to know if there is anyway to keep the rock chips off the rocker panels and the rear brake duct area? They seem to even get up on the lower part of the doors!

You can put ugly mud flaps :U on your car. :nono: Or you can do what most of us do, live with them.

Welcome to the Forum! You can either do what racer44 said or not drive it. I know that we would all like to keep our Vettes perfect, but they are much too fun to drive to worry about that. I got 3 rock chips on my hood last month during a spirited drive with our club. It was worth it! :D

I'm so glad that other people feel the same Way. Drive it like you stole it. You'll get the same money anyway!
I was at one time also very **** and now don't care and drive it real hard. REAL HARD And enjoy every minute if it!

Try this site. From what I have read, it sounds like everyone using it loves it.

I have the 3M film on my rocker panels. I have it on the area behind the front wheels and rear wheels (including the inner lips of all of the wheelwells) and on the lower part of the door as well. It has been on my 2001 Z06 for about 28 months now.
The install was not totally easy. I made my own paper patterns and cut the Xpel film using a shop knife. Just followed the installation instructions on the Xpel website.
The install was not perfect, but I was able to keep any wrinkles in the material totally out of sight. The film is not easy to work with on compound curves.
The result was totally worth it.

I bought color matching mudflaps, and they are still in the box. There is no way once I held one up to the car that I was putting them on.
I bough cleartastic, I was not real impressed as they got dirty and we hard to clean to perfection on the yellow. If you have a dark color car your tolerance will probally be better. I got caught in a rain storm and after a 20 mile ride found that both front pieces were gone. I may buy another set, but as the others have said, "you will grow to learn to live with it"

I found clear products come off in rain, and turn yellow/dirty too .On autocross of track days, I polish the areas, and apply common duct tape--quick and dirty, and comes off easily. Had plenty of it since the gov said have it on hand. :flag

I think that rocks are here to stay, so relax, enjoy the car, and don't worry so much about it. For the bigger chips, I have used a paint chip repair kit. Takes a little time and patience to use it right, but once done, the only time I notice the chips are when I detail the car.

If you are thinking about using mudflaps make sure they have the chrome girls on them.

I don't know, I'm thinking about those mud flaps for my Z06. I've seen a few pictures of Z06's that have them and they don't look intrusive if installed correctly.

I've got this product on my car. It works excellent. I wish I could coat the whole car!
