Default Major Guard - Extended Warranty

When I bought my car last October, I was a bit reluctant to purchase the extended warranty from my dealer. They wanted a lot more than their cost. I called Richard Hibbard Chevrolet in Claremont California the other day and spoke to Kristen, the Finance Manager. She was extremely helpful in helping me decide on a GM Major Guard protection plan, which was handled over the phone!

For those looking for an extended warranty at a very reasonable cost, I highly recommend you give Kristen a call. Kristen@hibbardchevrolet.com

For even better deal call Fitchner Chevrolet, I think you will find you probably could have got an even better deal.

Can you say what warranty packages and prices are available from Fitchner? Would appreciate the information.

Default Extended Warranty

Just picked my vert up, got an extended warranty from the dealer:
6 years / 60,000 miles = $2,000.00
(0 deductions) - refundable or can move to another GM car, if I trade.
As I don't put on a lot of miles the years are what counts for me, 6 years should do it.

For an even better deal than that call Marvin Johnson at Superior Chevrolet in Kansas City. I got a 6yr./48k mi. w/ no deductible for $1k. His Major Guard warranty prices could not be beaten by anyone.

They would include the factory warranty period. In other words, a six year warranty gives you 3 additional years.

Only if you like paying GM additional money to ensure they make a reliable car. For a car of this caliber and following, they should give better long term warranties....5/50K at least.

I think it might better to take the $2000 and place it in a replacement account for future potential problems. You will not need the money for at least 3 years depending on driving habits.

Ok.... I don't normally buy these things for my other cars.

So what is the opinion of the forum. Should we buy an extended warranty for a Vette? Are there special reasons that make it more important for a Vette?

Im guessing only if you intend on keeping car more then 3 yr or 36,000 miles?
