I think this is an intelligent bunch of people who, I am confident, realize that this is a purely subjective discussion.

I didn't call anyone's color choice a blunder, I simply gave the rationale for my choice.

Perhaps you're a bit thin-skinned?

Silver is classicly timeless. DSOM will become dated in a short amount of time like the late C3's with two tone.

Few colors are more "dated" than Mag Red, since it enjoyed but a one year run yet, when it was announced that it was going to be discontinued, people scrambled to buy cars in that great color.

Either you like a color or you don't. "Dated" doesn't really enter into the picture.

Funny, on the show room floor I had a choice between the DSOM and Silver. The DSOM was pretty but was an automatic and I wanted 6 spd.. The DSOM was hot but I was concerned it would be cache, so I went "traditional silver"- call me conservative!

One reason I would not get DSOM is I see it (or some variation) on way too many new GM trucks, Pontiacs, and other Chevy models. It will become the light Pewter metallic of the next 4-5 years IMHO. Trendy for now but will fade. Sliver will always survive as a classic color.

JD Power Associates, in independent testing, rates the DSOM higher. It appears to be a better handling color, makes the Borla Stingers sound better (sound reflection off the color) and has better handling characteristics, especially with the Z51 package.

There are several in this section that could do this. Just imagine the person and their vehicle are right there with you, would you still say in person what you just said here, especially if they were a friend?

There is nothing remotely derogatory in any of the remarks in this thread and I would not hesitate to say what I said to any friend.

There is an unusual contradiction of sorts at play here:

An auto tranny fan can state his preference, a member can paint his interior in an unusual manner, another can stick a 3 foot decal on the side of his door, and half the C6 crew state their opinions in less than the sensitive, caring, and empathic manner that a few of you seem to require... and all's well. But answer a question regarding personal color preference in anything but the most delicate of terms and some people take it as a personal slam.

Things that make ya go "Hmm..."

I think old-fashioned is more appropriate.

I hope Tracey doesn't read this.

See, not only is silver faster but its owners are more polite. Plus we are already married to a hottie and dont want to have to fend em off when driving a flashy color.

Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic paint is my 1st choice, thats what color my coupe is

Silver would be my choice for a Vert though, I really like the way Silver shows the lines of the car on the Vert

You got to be one of the guys that needs his *** kissed all the time and someone telling you how big your ***** are in order for you to be ok with your decisions. Please be a little more accepting of others opinions that were asked for. THANKS

Oh Yeah, Silver Sucks! JMNSHO!

DSOM. Had Pewter last time and loved it. I have a silver daily driver. Have always loved Corvettes in all the Orange variations. When I saw DSOM, it was love at first sight. My new baby goes on line this Friday and will be complete on Monday.
