I hope it doesnt rain... there is a chance .. if it rains... that would change it a bit.... corvette and wet roads...
The will be my first official event to autox... been practicing as much as you can on the off roads... so Im nervous and excited... I hope to be really aggressive... and push the car like I know it can go.... I also know I will get addicted to this.... bye bye tires.... Any insight would be great... hope to get some pics...

Good luck Tracy! No insight here, I go to Spring Mountain in Sept to start my training. But, get some of that blue painting masking tape and tape your contact spots around the wheel wells (that's what I've read is key) And, they make red tape too!. Tear it up Tracy!

AutoX is GREAT...!! Was able to take mine out at the recent Big Bear bash here in Calif....First time for me also...Advice..? The car can do much, much more than you think it can...Push it HARD.... Don't be worried about running in gears that provide the most acceleration..(RPM's 4,700 to 6,200)..Slowing down is done by the brakes..not by downshifting...And have a whole lot of FUN...!!!

I have autocrossed a number of times. You will have a great time. I suggest you run in "competition" mode. Get into second gear and leave it there. I have never been on a course that I had to worry about going to third. I have been on some that going back to first is an option, but for a first timer, I'd leave it in second.
Remember coming off the slow/tight turns to ease into the gas nice and gradually to avoid kicking the back end out.
My best advice for a first timer is to not worry about much advice (except mine ) and just do what comes natural.
Good luck!

Good luck, Tracey, on both the weather and the autox. Don't think we're supposed to get any rain until sometime in the afternoon, but weathermen have been wrong before.

Have great time and another benny to autoxing... if you want to get an idea about rotating this car that is the time to do it..that is why I recommend autoxing to anyone with a car that is new (of they are not familiar with)...push it to the limit and then some so you experience what the car will do and hopefully also learn WHAT you to do at that point.

make sure to get some of the 3m clear guard strips to protect your rocker panels and fenders. Autocross can be a nightmare if you are worried about rock chips.
