As I do every Sunday morning,I visited my Chevy dealer that sold me my amazing 05 Black Z51 coupe, just to see whats there. On the front podium was a victory red coupe with comp grey wheels, very nice thought I,untill I saw that amazingly cheap chomed plastic GM badge on that beautiful body. What was Chevy thinking, get out the hair dryer!

Glad I didn't wait for those 06's with the tacky GM badges.

I have no complaints about the badge. It is virtually the only external feature that distinguishes the 06 from the 05. As I was driving around my neighborhood I heard a teen age boy saying to his friend. "look there's an 06 - you can tell by the little badge".
I'm leaving mine on. If you want them off it is a fairly simple operation thiugh.

Double sided tape only? or is there an alignment hole too?

Someone that has toured the plant lately should have the answer. If not, I will find out next Monday.

What does it look like? And where? Is it really that bad?

I'm going to put the Z51 badge on the sides. I sam it posted somewhere on this site. Can't remember who sells 'em.

I could live with that tiny postage stamp sized factory original GM badge a lot easier than I could an aftermarket stick-on of an order sheet option code number.

It is really quite small. I think that it is affixed only by adhesive, not with a pin or stud.

It's only double sided tape...first thing I did was take mine off...I'd rather blend into the general population of 05's than look at those things...yuck!

I'm not saying it's bad.As has been said before, any vette is great.I just wonder what possesed the designers to add this piece. On a design basis it does'nt flow. The badge is on the lower rear quarter panel, just before the wheel.

This was a coprorate decision from GM to solidify their brand. The small emblem is being placed on ALL 2006 GM vehicles without exception to my knowledge.
