Default I helped build my C6 today

What an awesome 24 hours!!!!! (2:30pm Thursday - 2:30 pm Today)

I'm working on the long version of this report but I can't wait. Here is the Readers Digest version.

My wife and I were given Red Carpet Treatment at the plant on Thursday and Friday, (Oct 6,7). I had been working with Kevin but that is another story. I don't know what the status of private plant tours is at this time so I can't answer any question about them. Since we were already set up, we were able to do the tour. We had 2 different guides from the public tours, neither had done private tours before but both did a super jobs.

We spent 2 hours yesterday and 6 hours today building our Victory Red Vert. Here is what it looked like early today. Those stylish glasses my wife is wearing are the required safety glasses. I'm wearing my own safety glasses with side shields. I'll have more photos later.

The employees at the plant are very proud of their work. They were friendly and most smiled at us but when they found out they were working on our car, they got excited. I am not kidding when I said I help build my car. I did some simple things to the car, put on a door bumper, fastened the lower front bumper and tightened the lug nuts on one wheel. It was awesome!!!!

I have about 50 employee signatures in various places on the car. Most are now hidden by body parts but some are still visable.

It passed every test and at the end of the line, I started it and drove it off the line. My wife started the Victory Red Z06 right behind ours.

What a blast!!! What a car!!!!

I have been looking forward to the Museum Delivery for a long time. I hope it is as exciting as the experience we had today.

What a great story, and I am sure, experience for you and the wife.

Keep us apprised of the delivery process, and your drive home.

No, only 'plant cameras' are allowed. We didn't have a camera on Thursday (real disappointment) or for an hour on Friday. The person with the camera went out of her way to bring it to us when she was finished. At one point, our guide was questioned by security about taking pictures. They weren't used to seeing him with a camera.

Thanks for the feedback about the camera and all the information.

Sounds like it was a really good experience. last time I only got to spend about 30 minutes on the line for the first start. It seems like you got much more involved with the build.

Getting the signatures is a great idea.
