I was considering doing the Spring Mountain driving course. What would you recommend taking the 1 day sessions or the 3 day session. There are 3 different 1 day sessions. If you take all 3 is that equivelent to the 3 day session?

Take the 3 day. It takes more than the 1st day to even comprehend heel/toe braking. I think they now have weekend (2 day) Level 1 courses too, but the 3 day is awesome. Not only do you learn, but it's a serious adrenaline rush.
I didn't have heel/toe understood until 1/2 way through day 2. Even by the end of day 3, I was marginal at best. Practice makes perfect.
Also, if you took the 1 day class 3 times, I think you'd do the same stuff 3 times.
Take the three day - the one day sessions are really just an intro. Last week when I was there a couple of the wives took a 1 day while their hubbies took the 3 day.
The one day is the same most all the time I believe except for the special car control clinic.

I agree. Having just finished the 3-day class with Tom, there's no way you'd get more than an intro with a 1-day. And even after 3 days, some of us were still trying to get consistent/familiar with H-T, so take the plunge, go for the 3 days, you will be glad you did!
I had the good fortune to take the three day Level 1 Course at Spring Mountain a few weeks ago. Spring Mtn offers real value for your money.
The School is well run from every perspective that I can think of. Their lunches are even great. The instructors are each capable pros who respect and attend to the differeing skill levels of the students.
If you search the Forum for "Spring Mountain" or "Bragg-Smith" there are various reviews by former students including one going to back the Bragg-Smith days before the School was sold and renamed. One of the more recent reviews is as follows:
I suggest that you consider the three day Level 1 course as I do not see how you could start to learn everything that is covered in the three days of learning to drive in a safe fun filled environment.

Absolutely correct, the 3 day is the only way to go.
Are they offering any of the 6speed autos at Spring Mountain?
Yes, they have a nice A6, I drove it during most of my open lap time on the 3rd day, and after a few laps with Kenny to show me the DIFFERENT downshift points and ranges (different than the MN6's), I started getting a pretty good feel for it, and posted decent lap times. Even the A6 rocks!!
Chalky---- you got nothing better to do than monitor my posts? I almost relapsed when VETTENET Ken posted $$4500 off on the C6 For Sale board. Looks like someone ordered new through Larry D. in North Dakota, from whom I bought the Z. I guess it's just that time of year.

As all of the grads have told you, take the 3 Day class if you can. If you can't take the 3 day, then take the 2 Day. If you can't take the 2 Day then take the One Day.
Taking the 3 different 1 Day classes will not teach you what taking the 3 Day Level 1 class will teach you.
There is no track time in the Car Control Clinic. The Performance Highlights gives you just a taste of what the 3 Day Level 1 class is all about.
The One Day Accelerated Lapping Program is for graduates that just want more track time to practice their skills.
Taking any one of the classes will teach you new skills and make you a safer driver. And you will have FUN.
shoot me a PM with your email addy and ill send you my writeup from my 3 day course back in september of 04. DEFINITELY do a 3 day course........its WELL worth the money.

Yeah Dana - and you were QUICKER in that A6 then in those M6s I think ...
I have to second what Tom and Dana said about the three day.
I was in the class with them and was very impressed with the staff and facility at Spring Mountain. I'm already planning to do the Level two. I would go for two weeks if my wife would let me.
We had a great bunch of guys in our class.
The instructors Dave, Victor, JJ, Jordan, and Kenny were great.
Everything was well organized. I can't say enough about the experience. Just do it.
