I am the owner of a 2005 coupe with manual transmission. Sometimes when I go to start the car, the guages calibrate, but the starter doesn't turn. It is increasing in frequency and became a problem yesterday at an intersection. I had the dealer look at it during my last oil change and they could not duplicate the problem and didn't see any errors on the computer. Has anyone else experienced this problem as it starting to annoy me. Thanx.

Sorry about the obvious...are you sure you have the clutch pedal depressed sufficiently for the the position sensor to read to disengage starter interlock? If so maybe the sensor itself (position or condition) is the culpret

The clutch is depressed to the floorboard. Sometimes the dic indicates "shift to reverse". However this should not be required when restarting from a stalled condition. Should it?

Sounds goofy like you've placed the car in accessory mode or inadvertantly turned the car off!
Maybe it's as simple as you hitting the bottom of the start switch by mistake?
Or maybe you have a defective start switch.
