Yep, thats what I got. They look the same as the ones in the first picture. I just don't like the look of the yellow.

From a driver's point of view did those Silverstar foglight bulbs help your vision?
As far as look of yellow it isn't suppose to be for cosmetic reasons but that is the color choice that cuts the fog most effectivelly.

I can remember back when CIBIE, Hellas, Marschal all were great headlights with very nice glass like crystal and had certain light patterns like the CIBIE Z-beam?? if I remember correctly. I have some rectangular Hellas left from one of the cars I used to own 26 years ago. I'll have to look around to see if I have some Cibie lights around. All of these were real glass.

The Hella's in my son's Miata are the euro spec. glass lens with the replaceable bulb. Had to have a friend in the local Miata club that flies for AA bring them back from overseas.

I guess they don't sell those headlights I mentioned above anymore? I know they sell the bulbs.

Well, I wouldn't say there was much improvement but the light it puts out blends in with the headlights so you can't really tell. I thought it did help my vision on the side of the car more. It is almost a 180 degree drivers view of whats in front of you.

In the end, I am glad I replaced the yellow ones. Looks great with the car and I use them more at night for more of a viewing angle.

Oh and I bought mine at Auto Zone(I think) locally.

The Moen's are 42 watts, same as factory bulb.

But the factory fog lights are not really yellow. They just aren't white like the HIDs and other 4100K color temperature lights. The factory fog lights would look about the same as "old fashioned" non-HID headlights. They are not yellow like the classical fog lights are.

The Moen's and the factory bulbs are both rated 42 watts, so heat should not be an issue.

I got H-3? foglight bulbs 100 watts each in my 88 5.0 GT had the wiring redone and relay and these get real hot leave your hand on it and you will burn your hand. The lenses are glass. But figure as long as I'm moving those lights are getting cooled.

I may try the yellows but I have already bought the silverstars 9145 bulbs so I will just wait till the GM bulbs go out and either install the silverstars that I already have or go for a amber bulb. I just want the foglight that will cut through the fog if there really is one that can do that regardless of color or clear.

So the yellows did not improve your vision of the road at night or when there was fog present?

Here is a side by side comparison of the two bulbs:

I just installed these bulbs and I think they are GREAT, they really look like they belong with the HID lights, anyone considering this mod will NOT be sorry you did it.
