C6 Front License Plate Bracket

Hey Peter! I finally got around to installing your removable holder (after 6 months of being plateless after my accident.) I have to say the removable is a bit trickier to install than the non-removable, but still a piece of cake. And I'm pretty much all thumbs. It looks about as good as a front plate can look on a C6 and especially with the GM plate holder. Thanks again for the great product and your unmatched customer service!

Are most people liking the GM colored plate frame or the smaller aftermarket frames which are then painted to match the car? I have been leaning in the direction of the smaller aftermarket frame with this bracket but I have another month or so to decide.

It's about 50/50.

Seeing as how it is located in the middle of the grill, it would seem that the only negative is this license location would obstruct a Vararam setup. I suppose if one does not care about the ram effect at high speed, then this is not a big deal. However, there wil be a low air pressure region behind the plate with its center location. I don't want to restart the "is there a useful ram air effect" debate but, with the plate centered in the grill opening, I any ram effect is dead.
The appearance sure beats the factory frame. By the way, if one were to replace the factory frame with the Top Flight Repro, how do you remove the old frame (which is attached with adhesive)? Does the old glue leave a residue or damage the paint?

what exactly happens if you are pulled over SOLEY for this mish mash
front plate "thing":
points?
cost?
what if you pay the fine and 6 months later you happened to get pulled
over again in same state or another.....
i bought the national corvette museum front plate one,and the dealer had given me a stck on one(i removed it)
in ohio i've never been pulled over (cleveland, columbus, cincy)
heading for finger lakes new york(issues there or pa?)

If I am going on a trip out of state, I put on the removable plate. I just don't think it is worth the hassle and chance of being stopped and cited out of state for something so small. It also provides a little protection from bugs and road debris from being kicked up into the condenser since it covers the center section of the open grill area.

Incredible service!
I ordered on Tuesday, 7/17 after I noticed the horrendous GM-supplied mount had lost adhesion on 2 out of the 3 contact points. they promised it would be in by Thursday - I got it Wednesday! Mounted it up in minutes and it looks great! Many thanks for the quick service, as I was worried about the plate falling off with the stock mount. In NJ we need a front plate - this is definitely the way to go!!

I just ordered my 3rd painted frame from ya' today. I already have your permanent front plate holder...that I removed from my '07. I will be installing it on my '08 when it arrives - what type of tape would you recommend replacing the old stuff with. I do not want to send it back to you for 2 strips of tape.

Ordered the permanent bracket tonight. You had emailed me the Precision Red frames were no longer available. I found a Genuine GM one on ebay so I'll be set. Thanks,

I think you guys at Top Flight should approach GM and make a deal with them to include your product on every vehicle. The GM plate holder looks horrible and your product is the best I have seen.

I'm surprised G.M. hasn't ripped off your idea and made them a G.M. additional cost "Corvette Tax Included" option and then send their lawyers out to get you. This is by far the best location for the plate and for the not so creative (I made my own) it is a viable option.

my license plate holder flew off. the glue could not keep up. I have the license plate and the bracket, but i dont have the part you glue any more. Do you guys sells that part separately?
EDIT - I did not expect such great customer service. Top Flight contacted me and is sending the part free of charge. I have a feeling that because I rejexed the area when I applied it, rejex may not have allowed the glue to set. Anyway - this company Top Flight is top notch!!!

This is why Top Flight Reproduction is Great!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought their front plate bracket about 1 year ago. I Rejexed my car 2 weeks before I got the plate kit. Without properly cleaning the surface area, I applied the stick on bracket. A few weeks ago, I was driving fast and the top bracket fell off. I didn't even think about asking Top Flight for the replacement part, because it was my fault. Well -- needless to say -- in another thread I asked them about the part - and they are sending it to me free of charge.
This is the kind of customer service that you do not get in too many places.
HyperX, We will ship a replacement part out tomorrow.
When using adhesives, the surface preparation of where the bracket is to be mounted is very important. The area needs to be clean and dry and free of any waxes, that is why we supply the alcohol wipes with each bracket.
