The most cost-effective way to use dynamat would be to use it in conjunction with our kit in strips or squares throughout under our kit, especially in large areas that are prone to vibrations. To offer a full pre-cut Dynamat kit would be EXTREMELY expensive, probably in the area of $500-700 due to the amount of material and how overpriced it is. I have done many different combinations of insulations on the C5's and the improvement in sound reduction vs weight and cost for other materials was definately not worth it at all. The partial dynamat covering did help and give almost as much noise reduction with our kit as a full dynamat insulation only. Our material is much easier to work with, lightweight, and effective.
I've already sold five C6 kits to previous C5 owners who had our kit if that helps show that customers were happy enough to buy it for another car

I did that, the tar based material (dynamat) and the rubber foam based stuff (dynapad). The multilayer neoprene stuff is what cowboy is offering. It actually absorbs heat and sound. Dynamat (the tar based stuff) turns vibration into heat, the combo of the two is the most sound deadening possible. Your car already has some of the tar stuff in key location inside and underneath the car.
As cowboy stated the most effective way to do it would be to dynamat in large spaces and throw his kit over it. But I'd take it easy on the dynamat, that stuff weighs a ton and a half.

This kit sounds like an awesome deal, and I will definately be hitting you up within the next few weeks to order.
For reference to those of you thinking of dynamat, my last chevy truck was show quality with about $15k invested in audio/video system. I stripped the interior down to the firewall and dynamatted every inch of cabin space, roof, doors, etc. It's an extremely long process, the dynamat weighs a metric ton, and it costs a crapload of money. For pure sound deadening and acoustical enhancement, it probably can't be beat, and it did eliminate almost 90% of any ambient road noise/creaks and rattles I had before installing. But unless you need it for the sound enhancement of a nice audio system (elimination of vibration/rattles from the various metal surfaces of a car), its overkill.
I'll post a compare of my experience with a full dynamated car vs. this kit when I pick one up. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by this kit, especially considering the great value it appears to be.

So,does the stuff knock out some interior heat by my legs or does it just kill some sound??Don't need sound deadner,it's a vette not a caddy,I need heat shield stuff to get the heat off my leg!

This will keep the heat off your leg. It does quiet the inside down too but, like you said, it's not a Caddy and it's not going to be - only a more comfortable enviroment with less noise and heat
Ask the C5 guys, there's A LOT of them with this kit. I bet close to 500 forum members alone have the C5 kit installed.

What is a half kit? Is that the front or back? I am primarily trying to elimate the road noise in my coupe and most of that noise seems to come from behind the seats. Would just the rear part of the kit reduce noise noticeably? I am hoping the partition I ordered from you last week will help some with noise as well. Any thoughts on that?
