........now that there's a couple of model years worth of C6 out there.......and no body side mouldings like the C5 had.......there just got to be some horror storys around some clown using your car as a doorstop. Lets hear it!
I was looking through the 07 Accessories catalog I got from the dealer, and they're showing the side moldings in red, black, silver, and one more color, I think, but can't remember what it is. I noted that they did not have the artic white, which is what I'm thinking of getting.

The BSMs go on so low, and tucked into the side coves, that they won't do you any good. The car is so low that the jacked up pickup that parks next to you is going to rake the bottom of his door across the top of your door, or your hood, anyway. Besides, the BSMs look really ugly.
I've got door dings in both my doors. I opened my door too wide and too fast in a gas station and it got caught on the slump block fascia.
Two small paint chip marks, hardly noticable.
On a different occasion my wife opened the passanger door, and that second swing got away from her, causing the door to hit a concrete wall. More than a paint chip here, it cracked the fiberglass, and it shows. I have since put clear door strips on both doors. They are hardly noticeable.
I am also a lot more carefull when I open the doors.
those aren't door dings, they're dumb dings. My wife did worse with an older car she had. opened the door, car rolled back down the drive and about ripped the door off on a shrub. that's a dumb dent, not ding!

If this happened to me it'd be in the body shop but maybe I'm to ****. To me there are no "hardly noticeable "dings" or fibreglass cracks.
