Default C6 and dropping off son at school

Took our 7th grader to school today and the kids all drooled over the car. A couple kids asked our son if his dad rented the car to take him to his first day of school and son said no thats our car. The kids told him he was lucky. They said that is one nice Corvette. Another kid said his dad said that it was probably rented. I guess when he see us show up everyday, he'll then no its not rented.
Our son said that made his day seeing everyone drool over the car. Made his first day go smooth I guess.
Just thought I'd share this small story with you all. Made the kids day and I guess well, mine to.

I can't wait until my son is big enough to ride in my Corvette so I can drive him to school. But he's only 4 and my 98 doesn't have a switch to shut off the passenger airbag.

I do have one question though. Why is your son already starting school? It's kinda early isn't it? My son doesn't finish his summer holidays until after labor day.

I wish I could take my kid for a ride in my C6 but can't because she's not 8 years old or 80 pounds and can handle the air bags should the unthinkable happen. GM made it so you could turn off the air bags on the C5 but not the C6 for some strange reason. I never thought about it being my 03 silverado which is a four door but the smaller left hand opening doors in the back has a turn off on the dash for the passanger air bag. I would have thought all two seater would have that.
What a rotten deal to Big Brother it's customers like that and not allow us to make the call.
btw/ I looked at the 07 silverado like mine and it has the turn off switch on the dash.

I thought the passenger airbag remains off unless the weight of the passenger is enough to turn the airbag system on.

The 2005 C6 had the same key system that the late model C5's had.

Yeah, it's awful early but they're back at school here.

My wife is a Guidance Counselor and started back 1 Aug and the kids started back on 7 Aug. A neighboring county started back earlier than that.

They do, and it does. No "airbag worries".
