Default Has Anyone Had Any Problems with the Rear Transmission Seals leaking fluid

While pulling in the garage tonight a saw a stain on the floor. I got under the car but really couldn't see a leak, but I put a pan under anyway. It felt oily, but was not oil. I have a Manual

Any Help

I just noticed a damp area around the left seal on the differential. I'm watching it for awhile to see if it gets worse before I take it in.

While I was installing my Bullets a month ago, I noticed that the transmission seemed to be leaking, although very slowly as I had never seen any evidence of fluid on the garage floor (bought car in May). A week later while having headers installed the shop saw the same thing and put some RTV over the tranny to "spot" fix the leak until I brout it in. Just made the appointment today for Oct 30th, hope the dealer doesn't give me a hard time over the headers and bullets

Yep, my '05 started leaking with less that 2000 miles. But it was fixed with no problem and never leaked again before I sold it.

I took the car today and just got back from the Dealer. They said it was the OUTPUT SHAFT SEALS for the transmission. They said that they have to order the part from Michigan and it will take 4-7 days. They said that this was a "Bulletin" on things that may go wrong !

Default Tranny Leak

My 04 had a leak that dealer fixed. If you look at the bottom of the rear/tranny parting line you will see a small rectangular hole maybe 1/2" long by 1/8". This is where it will drip from if the trans shaft seal decides to leak. The dealer has a bullitin on this. They should be the same on the C6. Good Luck!

My '05 manual had a problem. It took the dealer three tries to get it fixed. Keep in mind that the fix requires the TOTAL removal of everything under the rear half of the car.

Turns out it was just the vent. I recently returned from a 3000 mile trip with a lot of 80 mph driving in hot weather and a little came out the vent. A little bit of oil looks like a lot when it been blown around.
