In today's paper: " next version starting next year"
In the Sept.22 Toronto Star news paper an article describing the Frankfurt Germany auto show mentions the Cadillac XLR / Evoq saying "It will be assembled alongside the next version of the Chevrolet Corvette on the company's production line in Bowling Green, Kentucky, starting next year."
Is this confirmation the C6 will be produced in 2002 as a 2003 model? I thought GM was going to wait until 2004. Doesn't look like it? Can anyone confirm the date? Thanks a bunch :seeya

I can't confirm a date for the Vette, but I did post the GM announcement for the 03 Caddy. But I think that if the new Caddy is going to be out for 2003 it's seems unreasonable if not impossiblethat they could build C5 at the same time. I wondered if the press release I posted might be wrong, but GM seems to be sticking with it.
Here's the thread on the 03 Caddy with a pic.

The XLR will be built in Bowling Green. But not on the same line. The way I understand it the only part of the facility they will share will be the paint booth. As far as the C6 coming out for MY 2003 we will just have to wait and see.

Myruby2, that's a COOOLD graphic!
I just said that cuz someone is in here correcting grammar.
But thank you very much. A new one is ready, so salute "Old Glory" goodbye. A shameless invitation to my web site is next. But, I may put "Old Glory" on my site soon. I really like it.

interesting info from the germans! I highly doubt that the c6 would be an 03 model! we would have seen the PR people at work by now!

yeah plus if it was a 2003, chevy would probably be making a 2002 collectors edition.............i would assume they would to keep up with tradition.............
heh i got an idea......................alongside the new collector edition they should make a red Z06 with white stripes and call it SR-2.............ya know, the 1956 vette race cars.............kinda like they did with the Grand Sport in 1996
good idea? :D
