Which is Faster - C6 or Caddy XLR-V?
Got in a friendly argument last weekend with a relative about C6 versus the Caddy XLR-V. Being rather dogmatic and prejudiced about my brand new C6 I told him he was absolutely wrong that there was no way that the Caddy was faster or a better handling car than a Z06 (I have the Vert - but I am honor bound to always defend ANY Corvette ) I coudn't find any stats on the Caddy, so I thought I'd ask you wise ones on the forum. Is the Caddy faster (I'm hoping I'll hear a resounding NO!!!!)?

According to this article it wouldn't even be close.

With a 0-60 time " The supercharged V-8 not only sounds terrific under full throttle, it delivers an ample 443 horsepower and 414 pounds-feet of torque -- enough to rocket this sled from rest to 60 in about 4.9 seconds." a standard C6 would trounce it.

Cadillac XLR-V 0-60mph tested: 4.6-4.9 seconds from two different magazines. Top speed limited to 155mph Skidpad:0.83 g. 1/4 mile: 13seconds
Safe to say a C6 would easily beat him on the bottom and top end. C6 Z51 MN6 0-60 tested times are 4.1-4.3 seconds range. A6 is 4.3-4.4seconds. SKIDPAD Z51: 0.98 g Top speed: 186MPH drag limited. quarter mile Z51: 12.45-12.8 seconds
Z06 would be long gone... Stock C6 Z51 would beat him.

BTW, I got a 0-60 of 4 flat with a borrowed comp g tech meter in my c6-a6-06....TC on,unprepped street,"s"mode

C/D lists non-Z06 at 4.3 in 0-60 and 12.8 @ 113 in the quarter mile. Both better than the XLR-V.

several website reviews have 4.1s 0-60 for c6 z51. I know the A6 is only 0.2 seconds slower when a site tested is against the 2005 Mn6 z51against the 2005 A6 test. They A6 may be faster now since the shifting has been improved.

for a Z06 30-70 you have to switch to 2nd gear. at 7000rpms in 1st gear you reach 60mph...depends on how good they guys is at shifting. a non-professional driver may shift below 7000rpms and not reach optimal results.

Yeaaaaaa!!! Thanks to all for the great input. Nothing beats an unfounded biased opinion like facts - especially when you don't particularly care for the "in-law"
Can't wait to show that smart-A$$ this info.
Thanks again!

If the Vette is the A6 Vert, than I'd say it'd be about dead even all the way till the Caddy hits the artificial 155 MPH top speed. After that bye bye Caddy.
Car and Driver quoted the Caddys 0-150 MPH at 29 seconds, while the Z51 MN6 Coupe did it about 27 Seconds. So if you take the A6 Vert the numbers might be at par with the Caddy.
