To anyone having a problem, I would suggest calling the Lear 800 number in the owners manual as they are very helpful and can get most openers that are less then about 15 years old to work just fine.

I have 2 garage doors. I had to park directly under one to get it to program for the Vette and the wife's Lexus.

Forget the GM instructions. Go by the instructions printed on your door opener motor, or home owners instruction booklet.

I tried the GM manual on 3 different GM cars and only the door opener mfg instructions printed on the opener worked. It was so dam simple, I couldn't believe how much time I wasted reading the GM instructions.

YOU NEED TO PRESS AND HOLD THE BUTTON YOU ARE GOING TO USE AND HOLD YOUR DOOR OPENER UP NEXT TO BUTTONS AND HOLD DOWN THE OPEN BUTTON FOR ABOUT 30 SEC OR UNTIL LIGHT STARS TO FLASH. THEN PUSH TRAIN BUTTON AND GET IN AND HOLD DOWN BUTTON ON SUNVISOR FOR ABOUT 30 SEC OR UNTIL LIGHT QUITS FLASHING.sorry for all caps in hurry

Default Door Opener!!

So glad this was posted been riding around for almost 3 yrs and just got it programmed. Really you just need to be patient.

Step 1: Figure out which system you have, there is 2 different instruction in your manual.

Step 2: For the people that have the 3 leds use this.

Push and hold the two outer buttons for 5-10 seconds, when you let go all 3 leds should be lit, if not try again, once there lit, then push the learn button on your garage door motor, then push and hold the button you desire to use to open the doors until the garage moves or lights flashes, then push same button again to see if it works..

Worked for me!

Default 2007 caru2 three button Wayne-Dalton torsion drive

Wayne-Dalton torsion drive will not work, tried all the previous methods listed here. I think the opener is a bastard system, Lear's site says it is not compatible with caru2 (three button). So I guess I'm screwed.

Mine will never light all three LEDs when I hold the outer two buttons, no matter how long I hold them.

Lear does not support phone calls any more. Have to go through their site. There it say my remote is not compatible.

Do you have an outdated opener? GM is hit and miss on homelink. I rotate new vehicles yearly to every 2. Same vehicle type but some I have to use a handheld to start procedure while others the hand held is not necessary.

Out of date opener? Do you mean in the car? How would I tell.

Not the car, the door opener itself
