Hope this helps - when I first saw my car, I didnt realize it was a glass roof. I like the stealth look and enjoy the open feeling inside.

Love my transparent roof...only comment is that it does get a bit warm in the dead of summer but the a/c does a damn skippy good job keeping the car cool...I never had the body color roof and don't regret not getting it.

From what I see the trans top appears black from the outside which is what I wanted to know. Am I right?

I put a headliner in the transparent top to get rid of the glare on the NAV. Even before the headliner, the top appears black.

We have a blk coupe with the Trans top. People don't know it's trans unless I point it out to them. We use a headliner in the summer to stop the FL sun from baking us.

I don't believe there's much question about what it will look like from the outside. This is why we buy the transparent top. It's been great for me here in NC. I'm originally from WV and you won't have a problem with heat. Besides the painted ones are flying apart. Hope this helps.

It feels and sounds like it is plastic, can you confirm it is glass?

It's plastic. I could tell you what kind if I were at home, but I'm at work now. Some kind of thermoset polycarbonate, which I guess is a fancy word for acrylic.
