The month and year (and some say the day also) are on a sticker on the driver's door. Mine only has the month and year.

Okay, thanks, I found the sticker on the driver's door with the date 10/06, but just some scribbling that looked like initials on the wheel well.

Not nessarily true. My wheel housing chalk says 8/15/06 when in fact the true blue build date for my 2007 coupe via the GM system is 8/22/06. I think that chalk is perhaps the date the housing was delivered to Bowling Green

As has been said, the only way that you will get your actual build date is from the GM vehicle information system. The sticker on the door jam will give you month and year. The information chalked in different places on the car is specific to when the part arrived at the plant and or when it started (the part) on the line. You also cannot get your build date from your build sheet. The dating on the build sheet is when the order to start the build was received at the plant and this can vary by a few days to a few weeks from the actual finish of the car (build date).
