Default CD changer install issues...

So I order the factory installed CD changer on my 1 week old 2007 C6 since the Nav unit means no in-dash 6 disc.

The guy is here installing it and we can't get it to work. connections seem ok, Nav unit recognizes it (shows that the CD "button" now says CD/CDX) and when you press the button, screen goes to a "initializing" screen, then goes back to the normal screen without starting the CD changer.

I put some CD's into the cartridge and put them in, then wondered if the problem was that I put them in upside down, so I flipped them all over. Now we can't get the cartridge to eject at all!

So, two issues really...cartridge won't eject, and CD changer won't play via NAv unit...

Installer has been on hold with tech support for 30 minutes now, hence the post.

Any ideas....???

Thanks in advance

I would disconnect the battery for a few minuets. It might not do anything but you never know. I don't know about the upside down CD's. I wouldn't think that would matter just the player would not see them. Let use know what happens.

I recommend you also post this over on the Audio/Electronics side. Good luck with the fix.

Ok, so the nice guy who installed it (Ryan) told me that his boss (Gene) told him that all they do is install it and if it doesn't work, it is now a warranty problem and I have to go after the dealership to get it fixed!

Gee...stupid me...and here i thought you were supposed to get a WORKING product first and the warranty covered later issues. Gee...good thing the Vette came with a motor that didn't have a blown head gasket or something.

So I called the dealer and spoke to one of the guys who know me from when I bough the car and he even says BS! So he calls Gene and was apparently less than sweet about the whole thing. He called me back to say that Gene was gonna work on getting me taken care of.

I mean, COME ON FOLKS! This is supposed to be a GM factory product and install here! WTF is up with the "oh, it's not MY responsibility now, go talk to them about it" crap!

Oh, and this was after they sent poor Ryan out friday with a broken and badly damaged CD changer the first time, then rescheduled for monday, then flaked and rescheduled for today. Now this...

I am less than thrilled with Gene and his "company".
