Not really. Not yet, at least. The FCC, the FTC, & undoubtedtedly numerous other government "oversight" entities will have to OK it. It is my firm belief that the "merger of equals" will never be approved & therefore never happen. Let's all wait & see.

I disagree with those that think the FTC still stop this. I think Sirius and XM will put together a convincing story of how the merger will improve satellite radio (like increased programming choices, à la carte subscriptions, etc.). I think it will eventually be approved.

I got an email from XM radio say that they were merging.Letter stated it has past already in Washington on 2-19-07
