I am saying goodbye to all. I was involved in a very serious crash on the 10th. My beautiful VY 2006 vette was totalled. I am thankful I wasn't. As much as I loved driving my Barbie, It's hard to get pass the feeling of being challenged by others on the road. Even though they could see I was a female behind the wheel, these idiots all wanted to race, and not just the young ones. I truely loved driving my car it was my dream since high school, now I will be envious as I see you all drive by. I will probably still wave out of habit. ENJOY

a pickup intentionaly veerd into me, 30staples in scalp 23stitches in forehead from the top flying off, broken left foot, and hand. will be on a walker for a while. my fiance would kill me if i got another one. but after reading all the well wishes and encouragement, well let's say maybe!! The police earlier were chasing after a black F150,but had to breat it off. the officer feels it was the same guy.

The important thing is you're ok!!!I was in an accident in my 90 vette 7 years ago, totalled, and it took a while for me to get over the trauma of it.It'll take a while, but you'll get thru it!Good luck!
Glad to hear you are alright, but don't give up the Corvette dream. Anytime you are involved in an accident you are likely to get nervous for a while and extra careful driving, this passes. Maybe as time passes you can get back into one, I hope so. I hate to hear that others have tried to push you into racing, thats stupid and dangerous.

I am also a female and have experienced the same thing with others "challenging" me. I have learned to ignore them and go about my business. I am sorry to hear of your misfortune. Good luck with whatever you choose to get as your next vehicle.
It takes a lot of discipline for me to not take on challengers, as this does come up a lot when I drive the Vette. I make it a point to show that I am not interested in racing. When I first got the car, I responded sometimes, because the car is so damn fun. But now, as much as I would like to race, I look back at consequences learned long ago when being stupid in fast cars. I leave the line extra slow whenever people seem to be challenging me to a competition around town. If I am way out in the middle of nowhere, I excercise my car's legs a little more....but still don't race people.
Happy you didn't suffer any serious injury from the accident. Sorry about the loss of the car but perhaps when you've had time to reconsider, who knows... maybe you'll have another vette in your future. Best of luck......
Sorry to hear about your encounter. Glad to hear you are are okay.
Its only been a few days. It may take a little longer to feel like your ole
self again. But you will and you will view this entire situation from a different perspective. The fun will be back. Hang in there and give it some time. I don't think goodbye is the operative saluation here. Rest up and we will see you soon.

I can certainly relate to that. I totaled my C5 last July -- or rather a 17 year old totaled it for me when he made an illegal turn into the path of my car. I'm still a little shaken by the experience. I can only wish you the best.
Anyone tries to race me they will be disappointed. I take it pretty easy on the road. I save my racing for autox and dragstrip. Don't let the morons of the world discourage you from driving a vette!
Sad story. I hate the challenges too. I don't like being stared at and that's why I traded my c5 vert for the c6 coupe (one of the reasons). I don't notice too many people trying to race. It may be because my car is Silver and it is more subtle. I also drive many country roads and don't drive many multi-lane and roads with stoplights.
I hear you. Look at my Avatar. Amazing how they hold up. I went to a "safer" XKR Vert. Now I am looking for a new 07 or 08 C6 Vert. You will be back. It's in your blood.

If you want some time off to "get back on the horse" thats VERY understandable. BUT! and i mean BUT! do not let every phalic challenged dill hole keep you from doing something you love. Every member here can write a small book on the AH's that resent seing us on the road and the only way they can try to feel better about their feeble lives is to bait us to race. Do what you want to do ,but do not let "THEM" keep you from driving the greatest car in america.
