Default Seats and your pets

Hello everyone a great forum here with lots of information.
I was wondering if anyone has suggestions when taking your dog, pets etc. riding. I have leather seats and my dog loves riding. Will the dog odor be left on leather seats?

Depends on the dog...

Our dog has riden across the country with us in both an Acura Legend and a Subaru Outback. Both had leather seats and we kept both cars for well over 100,000 miles and nary a dog smell. Our dog is a 55-lb Border Collie/Grey Hound mix from the pound.

Leather is one of the easier things to keep clean...as long as it stays dry. Oh, make sure the dog's nails are trim so you don't get scratches in the leather.

I've got a 105 lb Yellow Lab and I don't hink he would fit. And then there's the drool. He have to just ride in the truck.

Just watch the nails on the leather. You may want to get a cover for the seat for use when the dog is copiloting.

my 80 lb black lab loves riding shotgun. I went out and bought the cheapest seat cover money could buy. throw it on and away we go. yes yes i have to clean the windows afterwords due to nose prints. small price to pay for mans best friend. i agree, keep the nails trimmed

We have 3 small poodles that love to caravan with us and we take them along when we travel to Florida and also to Nashville every year. In fact they came along with us on the Corvette Caravan in 2003 which is what started these annual trips we take with our our pups and the newer Vettes. The 2 younger dogs ride with my wife and the older one rides with me. All we do is put a small flat pillow on the passenger seat, and maybe a towel or small blanket on top of the pillow. They travel well and they pretty much sleep most of the time we are driving. The rest stops are a treat, and we have a routine to give both them and us some exercise when we stop. It's fun to see the attention we get from other travelers when we pull in for a stop with 2 Vettes and 3 poodles. The BB Bullet exhaust is an attention grabber, then they see us getting out of the cars with the poodles.

I use a pet seat cover that has atibacterial treatment in the fabric to keep the pet oders down.

Don't forget the doggy seat belts.

I put a blanket on the seat and one on the passenger floor, so one Whippet can lay on the seat and the other one can lay on the floor!

My dogs are my children....one will be 15 in August and the other will be 10 in July. They cannot be replaced, but my C6 can .

I put a towel on the seat and yes cleaning nose prints is part of my job so he will let me use his vette. As a reward he shows his large canines to those who get too close to his car. Before he went to the jeweler he was the meanest jack russel on 4 feet. No dog odor problems or scratches!

I love my dog but that slobbering fool has as much of a chance riding in my vette as my X-wife.
