Default Eastern North Carolina Car Show Pictures

Today I attended my first car show of the year in New Bern, North Carolina. It is a big car show around here put on by a local classic car and hot rod club. More than 160 cars were registered. The weather was great except for the pollen. Lots of nice cars from old to new.

Here are a few pics.

My car

1960 Corvette

1956 Corvette

2004 C5 Z06 Special Edition

C1 and C6 together

Some other interesting cars

Thanks Ed. Your caps and battery cover look good don't they. I did a pretty good job of painting your battery cover too, if I do say so.

I can hardly wait to get my custom alternator cover from you. Hopefully I will have it next week.

Hey Will. There is also a Corvette only show in New Bern on April 21 and another one in Wilson on May 5th. Maybe you will be here for the show in Wilson.

I use Zaino polish on my car. It currently has 9 coats since I got it in January. I just put another coat on the car Friday. I love the way it makes a car look. I have been using it for about 3 years. I started using it on my Z.

BTW do you know what brand your Z06 wheels are? In researching them it appears OE Concepts and Factory Reproductions are the most popular Z06 repro wheels. Also where did you get yours from and how do you like them? Z06 wheels are going to be my next major purchase.

Mine are OE concepts and I ordered them from Nate at Corvette garage. I think I paid $775 plus shipping. I havent had any issues with them at all. The stickers of the cross flags in the center of the wheels is crap, but you can order some really sweet ones from cyberdinegraphics.com for like $30. My next step is a botlle of Zaino, tint windows(maybe) and lower it depending on how the roads in the Greenville area are.

I will not be there for either date you listed I get there on the 23rd of April to buy the house and leave on the 27th. Then back for good on 25 May.

Will,

Thanks. Your car looks great! Love the wheels. I actually talked to someone at Corvette Garage about the OE Concepts wheels. I wondered about the centercaps. I had seen the crossed flags logos that cyberdinegraphics.com sells. Looks like that is what I need to go with the wheels.

If you are interested in Zaino here is a link to the website. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

I recommend at a minimum a bottle of Z-6, a bottle of Z-2 polish, a bottle of Z-7 car wash and ZFX flash cure, which basically accelerates the curing of the polish. I started out with Zaino Total Protection Car Show Kit. I use both Z-2 and Z-5 polish. Also like to use Z-8 as the final layer for car shows. It is similar to Z-6, but with more shine. It is not included in the kit.

It not as complicated as it might sound. Usually I wash the car with Z-7 car wash. Dry it. Apply a coat of Z-6 and wipe it off as I apply it. It sprays on. Then apply a coat of Z-2 polish with a couple of drops ZFX. Wait an hour then wipe it off. Then apply and wipe off another coat of Z-6. You will love the results.

P.S. When you get here I will be glad to help you with the process. We can have a Zaino day. You can never have too much Zaino on your car.

One more picture from last Saturday's show. I have a buddy who went with me that has a very nice and highly modified 2007 Mustang GT. The pollen was bad and he had never used a California Duster before. I let him borrow mine and he couldn't stop using it. Here is a picture of him in action. Of course his car is black. He told me yesterday that he ordered one.

BTW as a trade off for using my duster I made him keep my car dusted too.

I had a black on black mustang before my vette. I was heartbroken when I sold it but funny how fast that faded when I got the vette.

Looking forward to Zaino day.

BTW my buddy Bryan uses Zaino on his Mustang too. He started using it on his Z before he got the Stang. If you look closely you will notice the shine on his front fender is not as good as the rest of the car. That's because he had a run in with a stone wall recently and had to have it replaced. The paint has to cure for a month before he can put any polish on it.
