Default Question for those using the long-reach Omega floor jack

The model number is 29023 and it's been discussed a number of times on the Forum.

Does the jack accept the Northern Tool cross beam or can it be easily modified to accept it?

The center post on cross beam adapter has to ground down in size to fit.

The FAQ above is your friend and the best place to start looking for info:

Thanks but that's a different jack in the FAQ thread. I'm interested in the Omega jack not the AC.

I have the Omega. I've viewed the various threads about modifying and installing the Northern Tool cross beam on the jack. I've not bothered. I have two scap 2x4s that I cut to the proper length for front and rear...center/balance them on the jack cradle...jack it up...install the jackstands. I've never had any problems so never saw the need for the effort or expense for going the Jack Mod route...it looks good, though!

Sorry! My mistake.

FWIW - I think you still have the same problem....

Just got an answer via PM.

Thanks Lexicon!

For others' information apparently the Omega jack has a hole to receive the crossbeam pin...but the pin needs to be made smaller.

Also FYI...instead of grinding the pin down I cut mine off, drilled and tapped the center of the old pin, screwed a smaller bolt in and then cut it off to the desired length. For me it was just easier than trying to grind the thing down evenly...and less messy.

Now to order my jack. I had a longer (older) Costco one but it broke.

Thanks...just ordered it from there.

Its a great jack...you'll like it. Its not a light weight...and will probably arrive on a small pallet. I think you'll find the quality is very high for the price. Good luck!
