2008 4LT Package Details ... Inside
Thanks to Runge_Kutta for this file ...
According to the attached file here:
http://www.patel360.com/forums/2008RPOInfo.pdf
Which was taken from a GM Site referenced in this link:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1690156
The 4LT option only contains 1 item ... only 1 item ... the custom Leather Interior ... that is all ... and from what I can tell ... it may not be worth it because the color combinations will be hard to match.
Thanks.

I can't wait to see how high the base pricing jumps what with the inclusion of Onstar, XM, the new engine and, so forth.

Wow, that document is REALLLY poorly written. It seems like pages and pages of the same information over and over.
One thing it mentions is that the Z51 MN6 still gets it's own gear ratios.
It also mentions that the XM antenna is now hidden in the outside mirror.

This now means that GM is slowly going to price it out of the market.

Are the only pictures of the new colors the panel shots?
It is always hard to get a true idea of colors from photos, but if the new jetstream blue and claret red actually look like what I see in the panel shots, I would take the MR and LMB any day.

As far as I know, these are most of the LS2 applications with engine ratings by GM under the old SAE guidelines:
2005-2007 C6 Chevrolet Corvette
400 HP SAE @ 6,000 rpm
400 lb-ft @ 4,400 rpm
2005-2006 Pontiac GTO
400 hp SAE @ 5200 rpm
395 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
2005-2006 Chevrolet SSR
400 HP SAE @ 6,000 rpm
400 ft-lb @ 4,000 rpm
2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS
395 HP SAE @ 5400 rpm
400 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm
2006-2007 Cadillac CTS-V
400 HP SAE @ 6,000 rpm
395 ft-lb @ 4,400 rpm
2004-2007 Holden Special Vehicles (all V8 models)
297 kW @ 6000 rpm (400 HP is 299 kW)
530 N•m @ 4400 rpm (400 lb-ft is 542 N.m)
2005-2006 Vauxhall Monaro VXR
403 HP SAE @ 6000 rpm
391 ft-lb @ 4400 rpm
For the sake of argument (while TTRotary looks for his irrefutable documentation), lets assume GM picked the lowest numbers to make the new engine look better. Adding 5 HP to the chart is still not consistent with the LS3 producing only 18 HP more than the LS2.

Who cares, WHT? It's Chevrolet's numbers. It's their chart. They put it out there for the Corvette intro of '08 models. They must be stating a fact. Their facts.
Maybe it was a bad day for testing an LS2. But it was THEIR bad day, not all LS2's, or Corvettes with LS2's. Or TRailblazers. Or all truccks with LS2's.
The hp numbers from Chevrolet at the intro are 395, 430 and 436. Are you gonna argue with Chevrolet?
Then take it to them. Please post the results as some of us are mildly interested.

1. Is there a new manual six-speed transmission?
2. Have there been changes to Torque Management programming?
Others?

GM has infinite confidence in the willingness of people who appreciate the Corvette to pay ever more for the car. This is while they continue to nickle and dime us with cost cutting here and there.
In 1967 a fully loaded 435 / 427 would probablyhave cost around $4000. That was a lot of money then. So figure that cost of living/ consumer price index has risen 300% since then...no, make it 400% just to make the point.
So $1.00 today buys what $.25 would buy , on average, in 1967.
However, does a fully loaded new Z06 ( the top dog vette today ) cost $16,000? No. The Z06 costs about 20 times as much as that loaded '67 while a base car with nice options at $55,000 is about 14 times as expensive.
Times have changed. People are less willing to wait and home equity loans are available for those without the cash. People are willing to pay much more for the car of their dreams. However, there is a limit to how much economic blood that GM and the unions can squeeze from consumers. We may have reached that limit this year as evidenced by selling prices of 07s.
GM can set msrps at whatever level they want. The market ( that's all of us ) will set the actual selling prices. It will be interesting to watch.

Prices
I was just looking at the window sticker from my fully loaded 2004 Convertible which had an MSRP of $56,000+
Today, the same 2007 Corvette optioned out car has an MSRP of $66,000+
If that continues, we'll be seeing the 2010 Corvette with an MSRP of $76,000

Just a guess, really do not know, but I am wondering if the leather package is intended to appeal more to the European market than the US. I get the feeling, with no facts to back it up, that the Europeans are more concerned with the "niceities" such as leather, than we are. We seem more performance driven.

But I, for one, would pop more cash for a nicer interior, like my buddies Aston Vantage:

I originally was searching for a 'personal luxury car' before I was introduced to Vettes back in '98.

I know the mega merge is annoying to some who were participating in the various threads, but I'm glad they did it. It's easier to follow 1 thread instead of 4 or 5 separate threads - especially since the players are the mostly the same.
