Who else is jealous of the LS3?[Merged]

Denial comes to mind....
You were all freaking out when the new Z06 was a Viper killer, major Vette cheerleaders...
Now a better engine with better internals and more responsive to mods is no big deal...sheeeesh.
Give me a break.
I am happy to see GM waking up, evolving product.
You WILL have a touch of envy (in a nice way) when a new Vette with the 6.2 is sitting next to you at the light with a mean sounding exaust that makes it sound like a Vette should. My hope is that the next gen Vette is more agressive looking than the current base Vette. More like a Z06 but with a meaner front end.

The simple fact is that EVERY person on this board who has a STOCK 05,06, or 07 vette wants an LS3. Anyone who says they don't is just kidding themselves. Now will everyone trade theirs in and take the first or second year hit? Of course not, including me. But do I want one? Yes, and so does everyone else.

Any tinge of jealousy is outweighed by...
LMB and '07 Comp Grey wheels.
Most of the other upgrades I can do aftermarket, and I probably would have anyway... just to make her my own!

Yeah, but I wouldn't necessarily want an '08 LS3

My order is set for 5/24. Already have the LT headers ready for install. Sold the '06 one month ago in anticipation and before prices drop. I like what I see that GM did to upgrade the car, but haven't warmed up to those split spoke wheels yet.

I don't think jealousy is the right word. Every model year gets improvements of some sort, that's how cars are sold. Until the improvements are enough to garner a new car, I don't see the need. If 35hp is that improvement for you, then go for it. I still don't push my 400hp to the limit as it is.
I take solice in knowing that I only owe 20k on this car, and it's coming down quick. Not looking at jumping into another payment anytime soon after that.

I have one of the first 5,00 ever made and no problems 2 1/2 years later no I'll keep what I got. The new changes are nice but I don't use the 400 I already have so whats another 36.

My 06 is bought and paid for. If I wanted any more power than it has, I would have already thrown some money at modding. It will take a more attractive body and a very special color to get me away from what I have and not 36 ''advertised'' horsepower.

My 2006 C6 is paid for but I guess if someone walked up and offered me an even trade I'd take it, but I don't want to pay the extra $$$ that comes along with getting a 2008, so I really don't want a 2008.

Jealous? Absolutely not! I wanted my C6 NOW (Dec '06) so I purchased it and couldn't be more pleased with it.
I know you said without mod's but with some basic bolt ons (intake, LGM LT's & Borlas) I'm sure I'm putting down pretty much what the LS3 will. Not only that but mine will sound alot meaner.
Just need that tune now and I will be a happy camper.

GM love's folks like you. They get someone into a $50K+ car and a year or two into it they "tweak" it and a large percentage will rush out and sell their one or two year old car at a considerable loss just to have the latest/greatest car sitting in their driveway.
Keeping up with the Jonses gets expensive at this level.
Good luck.

Tom, we don't want to keep up with the Jones, we want to BE the Jones
