Just a quick question about NCM delivery. When can you take delivery? Is this only a weekday M-F activity, or can you do it on the weekend also. I know the museum is open weekends, so am curious if they also deliver Corvettes then.

Thanks.

Actually, you can take delivery on a Saturday, but you won't get the plant tour that is part of the R8C during the week. I just had a customer pick up a car last Saturday!

This is my 4th vette and the first one with museum delivery. Not to sound to sappy, but you seem to form a special bond with your car when you pick her up in Bowling Green.

We plan to make a vacation out of it, be gone ten days or so. After picking up the 'Vette, we plan to do some touring/sightseeing in KY and TN, mostly getting used to the car and breaking it in (500 here we come! :-). Then we will take the Dragon's Tail to the Blue Ridge Parkway, head on up to Virginia, then through West Virginia and Ohio. The plan is to get back to Minnesota without seeing any freeways :-)

None of this is happening any time soon (May '08) so we have plenty of time to decide exactly how to option out our 'Vette and make plans for our trip.

You can take delivery seven days a week but I would really recommend going when the plant is open.

We took museum delivery a year ago this week. You will really enjoy it. The plant tour is worth it alone. Where do you live in Apple Valley? PM me if you want.

Totally agree. The plant tour is part of "connecting" with your Vette. Although you can take a public tour of the plant, it is very cursory and only lasts about 45 min or so. In my NCM delivery, I was in the plant for over 2 hours, and got to see parts of the process that the public never sees. In addition to "giving birth" to a Z06, I got to ride it into the booth where they run it up to 75mph or so to check everything out. Plus the experience of seeing your car in the museum behind the ropes is just plain .

Plan your delivery durring the week so you can do the plant tour, that's one of the best parts. Also, the Mammoth Cave is a nice place to visit nearby.

I agree, NCM delivery is a great experience and one I hope to repeat in the future with the C7 .
