I did the JWM seat repair, to remove the "U" clip I simply cut a piece of wire (clthes hanger, bailing) about 12 inches long. Using a hammer flattened on end, used needle nose to bend it in to a hook. Reach behind and hook the "U" clip and pull it out.

See Pic. it really is notthat hard. I might suggest simply unbolting the seats to make it easier to do.

My first thought is if GM offered the C6 with these aluminum parts originally would we replace them with plastic ones cuz they would be lighter so now my C6 is quicker off the line.
