C6 DRL's
Has anybody figured out how to deactivate the daytime running lights on the C6's? I replaced a turn signal bulb last week and the wiring harness looks fried. I checked the other side and it looks burnt as well. I don't think these bulbs were intended to burn all the time.

They were intended to burn all the time. I do believe there was a TSB on 2005 DRL wire harnesses. You can turn them off manually every time you start the car. I don't think anybody has pasted a way to automatically deactivate them (since they are also the front turn signals).

Service Bulletin:
Service Bulletin #: 05.08.42.009
Date: July 2005
Subject: Front Park/Turn Signal Bulb Intermittently Inoperative (Check Bulb Operation and Replace Headlamp Wiring Harness, If Necessary)
Model(s): 2005-2006 Chevrolet Corvette
Condition
Some customers may comment that the left or right or both front park/turn signal bulbs are inoperative. This condition may be intermittent and replacing the bulb may not correct it. This condition may be due to a loss of contact between the base of the bulb and the socket.
Correction
Important: Some early versions of the headlamp wiring harness have a section of harness that is not needed for this bulletin. Prior to installing harness to headlamp, disconnect and discard this section. Check the bulb for correct operation off the vehicle by using a 12-volt power source. If the bulb is found to be inoperative, replace the bulb with a 5702 KA Phillips bulb, P/N 15233607. If the bulb is found to operate out of the socket, then the headlamp wiring harness should be replaced. Remove the headlamp assembly for access to the wiring harness (refer to the Front Headlamp Replacement in SI, Document ID #1507485).

I do that every time I start my Vette or truck unless its night out. That system turns on the headlight if your in garage. so I do the turn the stalk trick to stop those expensive headlighs from doing so many short cycles. Also if LEO see only one DRL on he has reason to stop you. The turn stalk thing takes care of all that nonsense

Turn the lights switch clockwise to turn off the DRL per start up. Whenever you're unsure if your DRL is on or off, you can reset it by turning your parking lights on then back to the auto mode. This resets the system to the default setting.
