Actually, something I didn't know until a recent visit to the local dealership is that 2007's with the F55 option also have cross-drilled rotors as well. Don't know about the previous years, but the car I drove was a 2007 with 5000 miles and the F55 option with cross-dillred rotors. Always learning something new!
No regrets at all, this is the best corvette ever. I can't imagine somebody not being satisfied by the car. Having said that, there are some areas that could be improved. You will learn a huge amount by reading your way through the C6 FAQ posted at the top of the forum page. Good luck.
If the car is stock and EXACTLY as it was from the dealer, I don't think the F55 had crossed drilled rotors. After market maybe but not from the factory.
2008? Yes, you can get the CD rotors on the F55 OR the Z51.
If you can look inside the car, all of the option codes will be on a white sticker on the left inside door of the glovebox. "Z51" will be listed there. Usually, you can tell by looking for drilled brake rotors.
Here's what the Z51 handling package adds:
The Z51 package, available with all PEGs on both Coupe and Convertible, is designed for the
performance enthusiast. The package includes:
• Specific shocks and springs designed for more control
• Larger stabilizer bars
• Larger, cross-drilled brake rotors (340 mm front/330 mm rear) and track-tuned linings
• Engine oil, power steering and transmission coolers
• Specific higher-grip Goodyear EMT tires with asymmetrical tread patterns
• Specific six-speed manual transmission with quicker gearing
Note that the last line only applies if it's a manual tranny.
Hey guys. Anyone have any regrets with there new corvettes. Im looking at an 06 with 5000 miles for 60k Canadian.
How can u tell if its a Z51 or not and whats the difference.
Love my '05/Z51/M6....greatest combination of power & handling that I've ever driven. The Z51 package includes the cross drilled rotors, EMT Supercar tires, closer gear ratios, engine & transmission oil coolers, larger front & rear sway bars, different shock valving, lube fitting for the rear suspension & maybe a couple of other items I've missed. You can't go by just the drilled rotors since they may be an aftermarket replacement or as others noted, part of the later F55 option. Best way to confirm is to check the build code on the glove box door label.....I don't remember the code, but if you do a search on the Forum, you can find it. Other way is to check the lower rear ball joint for the grease fitting! As for price on a used '06....Canadian dollar is around .95 against US dollar, so your $60K Canadian is ~$57K US. You don't say how the '06 is optioned (other than Z51), nor whether Coupe of 'Vert, buy that sounds like a high price.

Bought a 2006 Monterey Red Coupe in April last year and love it. I have no regrets, but the wife regrets that it is not a Daytona Sunset Orange. I drive it as often as I can.
I certainly have no regrets about my (non-Z51 optioned) C6. It is one of the most reliable and fun cars I've owned. The Z51 option has many nice features designed for the parking lot autocross or gymhkana enthusiast. The additional cooling and larger brakes are a plus but IMO the drilled rotors are not. The rotors were drilled according to the 'Father of the C6' Dave Hill...just for looks. The Z51 has a specific suspension as well as slightly different transmission gear ratios. I know the GM web site lists all of the features of the Z51 option.
Z51 optioned or not, I think you will find the Corvette C6 to be a tremendously fun car to drive.
I have only one regret, I wish I would have kept my C5 in addition to buying my new C6. I love my new roadster, but I also find myself missing my old car.
There may be another C5 in my future.. maybe a supercharged one..

NO regrets, not sure about the exchange rate on the purchase price, the previous reply's covered the Z51 question. Good luck if you decide to pull the trigger, you will enjoy the car.
