Advice please
I noticed some horrible swirl marks on my hood tday and some on my door. I guess this came from my washing or waxing the car, even though i use microfibers for everything. Anyway, I was wondering if the swirls could be removed or if they are permanent. Thanks a lot for any advice!
For swirl mark removal, shop around for some of the polishes designed for swirl mark removal & try a very small area by hand. I would not wheel it unless you area pro at wheeling.
>www.autopia.net< is an excellent site for this type of information. Most all automotive wax companies have or manufacture some type of polish designed for swirl mark removal. Also Maguirrer's (spelling?) site has some information available also.
All of the above does not mean that your car will not benefit from clay barring, just that clay barring will not remove swirl marks. HTH

Please double check the link in your post. It does not appear to be the correct web site? Thanks!

As others have said, clay is not the solution, for the reasons offered.
Everyone seems to have their own ideas of how best to keep your car looking nice. If I were you, I'd contact Larry Reynolds at Car Care Specialties and Rich at Griot's Garage and ask them to send you their catalogs and/or detailing guides. That's the place to start (I'm assuming here you are a novice when it comes to detailing, forgive me if I'm wrong)
If it's any comfort to you, I did all of this and still get the swirl marks sometimes. It's part of the fun.
Oh, the short answer though is to get some "Speed Shine" from Griots and just spray away. Works for me, most of the time, though I'm living in the Pacific NW and suffer from the insiduous tree sap.
No, go get in touch with Griots and Car Care Specialtes. Both are helpful, though this is my preference and I'm sure others may have their own favorites.
