Some Things I Just Don't Get
#22
Some Corvette owners are way too ****, hence where we get the terms like garage queens, lawn art, etc. Maybe they think their cars won't depreciate if they leave it covered up in a garage.
Now the car in the photo, I just thought that was silly looking and maybe the owner should go home and put it back in the garage where it belongs instead of on the Lex.

Don't know where the pic was taken but on a crossing like that water spray would most certainly get on the car. Salt water is especially corrosive. I never cover my car but were I to do such a salt water crossing, I'd be sure to cover my baby.

You should see what them big black diving ducks will do when they take a crap.
Driving on the long brigdes over Tampabay, i've had my car nailed pretty good from them ducks sitting on top of the light poles.

NOt on the Vette but on other cars, yes. And if you don't get to it right away, it does a number on the car. That's even WITH the best polish/wax, whatever you can have on your car. Let's face it, bird poop has acid and everything else in it. Why else would it be called, poop?
I'll take beaverstone's word that it really wasn't on the car very much, but even if it was, so what?
I saw the Gullwing show/concours way back when in Dearborn. That night, under a full tent with an armed guard, every car was covered.

saltwater can easily penetrate even in the inside. one time i had a car shipped onborad USS, i can't believe the screw inside the vehicle started to rust. i don't see no problem covering it while underway, extra protection!

Several cars pre-staged the night before aboard. I'm sure they just wanted their car to stay clean and dry and looking its best for the event the next day. This was a first day photo.
